I first started this project by sketching out various logos and designs for my brochure. As soon as I developed a solid sketch, I created a logo design in Adobe Illustrator. I then began to develop my brochure in Adobe InDesign. I first added a picture background for the front cover, then placed my logo. On the front page towards the side, I incorporated several photos. For the second page, I placed three more images. For one of the images, I used quick selection tools to cut out the background. I took that image back into InDesign then used text wrap around the image. I then added titles and text.

First I had to sketch out multiple designs for this project. I then used Adobe Illustrator to create three different designs that applied various types of fonts and colors. After getting several critiques, I learned that my first original design was the best choice for my final project. I then created versions of this design in grey scale, and in white on a color background. Originally. I had another logos project, however Brother Pingel had to give me an automatic fail because I used a think black stroke. In this final project, I made sure not to make the same mistake again.

Full color bleed design that incorporates photography and photodesign skills.
Adobe Photoshop
Learn how to take quality images and edit them using Photoshop. Then adjust image levels, saturation, color balance, sharpen tool on separate layout.
I began this project by sketching and analyzing what my message and who my audience was. I then took several pictures with a model and uploaded one of the images into Adobe photoshop. I used tools such as vibrance, levels, brightness, and exposure to edit the picture. I also used color selection on the model’s sweater to change the color from red to purple so that it followed the color scheme (Complementary). I had to crop out the body and decided to add a gradient background. The gradient effect emphasizes the “reflection” theme. The effect that I used within the bottom box also creates repetition to the theme.

Design of a personal logo applied to a business card.
Adobe InDesign &Illustrator
Create a new logo and design consistent layouts for a business card while applying typography rules.
I began this project by brainstorming and sketching various logos. As soon as I established a company logo and design, I used tools within Adobe Illustrator and Design to create my project. I first made a business card and used a subtle gradient for the background to add texture. After I created my business card, I created a letterhead. I used the same logo from the card to add repetition to my project. I also added more design elements at the bottom of the page where I put the letter C in between the information.

A web design project focusing on the tools and principles of HTML and CSS.letterhead.
Text Wrangler, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign.
Write orginal content to describe the logo while developing a knowledge of HTML & CSS.
In this project, I used programs such as text wrangler to develop a HTML and CSS file to establish my web page. I inserted a previous design image using codes and changed the background colors and text to match the logo. I matched the red background by using the eye dropper tool in Adobe Photoshop. To create the border effect on the top and bottom of my page, I used a special code within CSS. For the black background, I inserted an image from Shuttershock. I chose this image because of the dark and subtle gradient. This compliments the overall design of the logo and webpage.

Black & white flier to promote an event titled: GraduateLeadership Conference.
Adobe InDesign
Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography. Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
I began by analyzing who my audience was and what the purpose of this design would be. I then sketched and chose one of the four outlines to guide me as I started the project within Adobe InDesign. I used black boxes to fill in white space and add contrast. I also applied two different types and fonts to differentiate the various sections. By emphasizing one word in the title box, graduate students can see how leadership is the main message. I was given the image, logo, and information for this copy.

I first found an image and scanned it. I then began to organize my project by establishing my charity sketching out a design. For this design, I used tools within Microsoft Word that cut out the background of the child image. The sketch of Africa was created within Word through shape and line tools. I added a box design at the top and bottom of the page to add repetition.

A spiritual montage made by blending three images which incor-porates typography.
Adobe Photoshop
Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant spiritual message. Use a mask to apply a filter to one part of the image.
I began this project by organizing an overall message and then sketched out a design. I took the picture of the scriptures and journal in my apartment and found the Christ and cloud images online. I used the magnetic tool within Photoshop to cut out the scriptures. I then placed the cloud image and applied a filter to change the color from blue to a golden brown. For the image of Christ, I used a mask and blended the image into the design. I also used a blur filter to add a sensational effect. Within the title, I used a bevel and emboss as well as a drop shadow to create a dramatic effect to the text. This image to the right was a redo of my original project.
