    PASTOR’S REFLECTION

    Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

    February 19, 2017

    Dear Friends,

Being holy means to love God. Jesus teaches that to

authentically love God we must also love the neighbor.

As the temples in whom God’s Spirit dwells, we love God

when we respect all God’s children. This can be difficult

enough in the face of goodness. In the face of evil it is

our greatest challenge. How do Jesus’ words challenge

you? Where have you tried them and been surprised?

Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been

given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and

believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my

prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the

good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please pray

    for me.

    In Christ,

    Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro

    PopeFrancis@pontifex

It is good to know the Lord takes on the

burden of our fragilities and patiently

gets us back on our feet with the

    strength to start over.

    DIVINE MERCY IS THE SECOND

    GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

This is a breathtaking journey combining history, Scripture,

prophecy and the lives of the saints to show God’s merciful

love for you. We will watch in five meetings, brilliant

cinematic artistry narrated by acclaimed author and popular

speaker Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC as he shows how amazing

historical events of the past 500 years connect to reveal the

deeply personal spiritual reality of God’s merciful love-

    culminating NOW, in our lifetime.

We will meet for five sessions on February 28, March

    7, 14, 28 and April 4. Time is from 7:15 to 9:00 p.m.

There is a guidebook offered to enhance your experience. It

can be ordered from Mariam Press at ShopMercy.org or by

calling 1-800-462-7426. Product code: SGBK for $19.95.

The mass will be held on the outdoor grounds of

Carrollton school, overlooking the water and watching

    “sunrise” as Mass is celebrated.

Bring your own chair - and blanket if it’s chilly!

After mass we will stay on the school grounds

    to have breakfast,

so please bring an item to share with the group.

    JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN!

“If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic,

hand over your cloak as well.

Should anyone press you into service for one mile,

    go for two miles.

Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your

back on one who wants to borrow.” – Mt. 5:40-42

Our St John Neumann families have been

incredibly generous, as always, to ABCD and the Parish. To date $223,266.00 has

been pledged towards our goal of $265,901.00. We are

less than $45,000.00 short of our goal! Thanks to all

    who donated.

You can still pledge to the parish and ABCD on

the forms at the church, parish office or on-line. Will we finish strong? OF COURSE WE WILL!

“Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride

is taking less than you need.” ― Kahlil Gibran, Sand and Foam

    HOMELESS MINISTRY NEWS

After time spent shadowing the St John Neumann

Homeless Ministry, Church of the Little Flower,

Coral Gables launched their own Homeless

Ministry in an inaugural outing to Miami Rescue

Mission. 45 volunteers serve 371 meals. A special

thanks goes out to Joe Montesinos, Tucker & Lilly

Lopez & Luis Blanco for helping cross this initial

threshold... They made a huge difference with their

    knowledge and expertise.

During this past year members of Church of the Little

Flower have brought food and resources especially

when we needed it. SJN Homeless Ministry provided

guidance and introductions regarding the Miami

Rescue Mission. They will serve the homeless on the

2nd Sunday of every month and have modeled their

    outing after SJN.

They were most grateful for our participation in their

first outing and we have been blessed with their help

for the past year. God’s speed on their new ministry

and gratitude to our SJN Homeless Ministry for the

    seeds they have planted.

    NOTICIAS DEL APOSTOLADO HISPANO

    REFLEXIÓN DEL PÁRROCO

DOMINGO SEPTIMO EN EL TIEMPO ORDINARIO

    FEBRERO 19, 2017

    Queridos Amigos,

Enfrentandonos a

esos que se les palpa el mal es nuestro mas grande desafio.

¿Cómo es que las palabras de Jesus nos transforman?

¿Cuándo has confiado en el Señor y te has sorprendido

    en el resultado?

Pasen unos minutos en oración de silencio. Pídanle a

Dios que les demuestre formas de responder a Su Palabra

y a Su Plan divino. Por favor oren por mi. Asegúrense

que los tengo a ustedes y a sus seres queridos en mis

oraciones diarias. Que Dios los bendiga!

    En Cristo,

    Mons. Pablo A. Navarro
