Proposed observing schedule

May-July schedule is still uncertain due to proposed changes in LGS science night distribution.

• April– April 9: 1 night NGS engineering (PHARO re-commissioning)– April 10-11: 2 nights NGS science

• May– May 9-12: 4 nights P1640 commissioning– May 13-14: 2 nights LGS engineering– May 15-26: 12 nights LGS or NGS science

• June– June 12-13: 3 nights SWIFT commissioning– June 14: 1 night LGS engineering– June 15-25: 10 nights LGS or NGS science

• July– July 8-10: 3 nights P1640 commissioning– July 11-14: 4 nights NGS science– July 15: 1 nights LGS engineering– July 16-23: up to 8 nights LGS science

PHARO

Modifications• Cradle modified to move PHARO 2.50” forward.• FM3 mounted to kinematic base.• FM3 enclosure & cart suport post added.

Schedule• Early Feb.: Initial image quality tests.• Mid-March: Lab commissioning with PHARO.• AO in the lab through April 7.• April 9: 1 night NGS engineering (PHARO re-commissioning)

Project 1640

Schedule• Pre-ship review planned for March 27, in New York.• Plan to ship by April 15.• Arrives at Palomar by April 28.

• AO in lab April 13 - May 7.• April 13 - 27: Install SSMs (if not done previously)• April 28 - May 7: P1640 lab commissioning.

• May 9 - 12: 4 nights P1640 commissioning• July 8 - 10: 3 nights P1640 commissioning

If SWIFT is delayed, P1640 could trade the three July commissioning nights for those in June.

If P1640 is delayed (some concern over vendor delays), May nights might have to be given back.

SWIFT

Schedule• Pre-ship review planned for early May, in Oxford (no date set).• Plan to arrive at Palomar by May 21.

• AO in lab May 27 - June 10 (currently published schedule).• May 21 - 26: Instrument checkout without AO.• May 27 - June 10: Instrument lab commissioning

• June 12 - 14: 3 nights SWIFT commissioning• Subsequent commissioning runs requested in Aug. and Sep.

If SWIFT is delayed (some concern over detector procurement and testing), first commissioning run might slip to July. However, only 10 days lab time (possibly less) are available prior to this run.
