What would life be like if he was never born?
3. FACT: On the cold wintry morning of February 21 in
the year 1925, as President Coolidge worked quietly
in the White House down the street
Theresa Crider gave birth to our hero in a hospital in
Washington D.C.
4. Pappy has influenced many of the great historical events of the 20th century.
What if Pappy was never born.

5. 1925
Scopes Monkey Trial. Tennessee passed a law outlawing the teaching of evolution.
An important part of the trial was Baby DONALD. Although he was only a few months old,he was used as an exhibit in the trial to emphasis that man could not be evolved from monkeys based on Donalds incredible genius abilities at age 6 months.

6. 1927
Television Invented - The first public demonstration of televisionwas in Washington.
The first public image on a television set was of Baby Donald! The news flashed around the world DONALD is a TV STAR!
7. 1928
Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic.
What the world did not realize was that toddler Donald was with Amelia Earhart on the famous flight.
8. October 1929
The Stock Markets Crashes
What the world did not realize that the actual cause of the Stock Market Crash was because when Donald was born, so many Americanswere impressed with the young tyke that they took out bank loans to buy Donald expensive and outrageous gifts--- ultimately leading to the collapse of the banking structure.
9. 1932
WW I Army veterans, who were entitled to special bonus payments marched on Washington.
What the world did not realize is that 7 year old Donald organized the march on Washington by the Bonus Army.Donald also served as the chief negotiator for the Bonus Army and President Hoover.
10. 1933
Prohibition Repealed
What the world didnt know that Donald as a youngster was a leading fighter for the repeal of Prohibition.While at the time he was unaware of his motivations, he later realized it was because he would marry into a wild Italian family.
11. 1937
Hindenburg blows up after traveling from Germany.
Donald was called to the scene and helped to rescue hundreds of passengers. The cause of this explosion remains unknown to this day, except to Donald, who knows the real reason the Hindenburg blew up, but he refuses to tell.

12. 1941
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. What the world did not realize was that Donald was called to the White House to consult with the Joint Chiefs of Staff about what to do following the attack.
Donald meets with Roosevelt-- Offers Ideas.
13. 1945Yalta Conference
Donald, President Roosevelt, Prime Minister Churchill, and Marshal Stalin, met at Yalta in the Southern Soviet Union. Donald served as peace maker between the leaders and he also got them interested in stamp collecting.
14. 1948
While working as a Congressional courier, Pappy gets
Information mixed up and delivers the wrong election news to the Washington Post. Pappy invites Truman to his wedding where he plays the 12th Street Rag for Nonnie.
15. 1949
Benjamin Spock publishes "The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care. What the world does not realize is that Dr. Spock and Pappy are long time friends. Spock actually stole the document from Pappys office.LaterSpock would become a TV star but Pappy refused his invitation to join on the Enterprise giving the lucrative role to William Shatner.
16. 1950
Pappys cousin Joe McCarthy visits the family and meets the Recio family. McCarthy is suspicious about Mrs. Recioss interest in communism causing him to start a nationwide Red Scare campaign.
17. 1951
Pappy once again turns down his shot at stardom after Lucille Ball invites him to star in a new TV show I Love Lucy.The writers wanted Donald to play a crazy psychiatrist whose family lived upstairs and has a brain in a jar.To thank Ball for the offer, Donald promises to name his daughter after the star of the show.
18. 1952
Pappy works with his college friend Jonas Salk to develop the polio vaccine.Pappy, who is nervous about paparazzi, allows Salk to get the fame.Later that same year, Pappy again turns down fame, when he allows his friend Carl Swanson to market his new idea --TV Dinners.
19. 1954
While visiting Des Plains,Illinois, Pappy suggests to Ray Kroc that he open a fast food restaurant with a funny clown named Ronald McDonald.Kroc is so thrilled with the idea that he gives Donald free Filet of Fish sandwiches for the rest of his life.
20. 1955
Pappy develops and markets an egg substitute for cooking. Egg Be Gone is big hit with housewives. Pappy realizes after the product is a top seller that it also enhances fertility, marking the beginning of the baby boom.
21. 1957
Sputnick, the first satellite, is launched by the Soviet Union - marking the beginning of the Space Age. What the world does not realize is that Pappy was actually on Sputnik. His cousin Joe McCarthy told him not to tell anyone about the trip.
22. 1956While his friend CharlstonHeston is visiting the family in Virginia, Pappy shots a rattlesnake on the porch. After this experience, Pappy starts the National Rifle Association and names Heston as NRA President.
23. 1959
Pappy helps Elvis kick off his career after Pappy talks about how his brother in law Jim Koedel loves hound dogs.
24. 1961
A frustrated John Kennedy called on Pappy to help him with his inaugural speech.Pappy, who was a closet Democrat, met secretly with JFK, and helped him to pen his famous speech.In return, Kennedy personally built a fall out shelter for Pappy in his new home in Hollidaysburg.
25. 1963
Unknown to his family or friends, Pappy traveled to Dallas on November 22, 1963. He captured the assassination on film, but gave the film to the Kennedy family for safe keeping.Only Pappy now knows whether Oswald acted alone that day and he isnt telling.
26. 1967
Beatles invade America. Pappy invites John, Paul, Ringo and George to spend the weekend at Lynns Crossing with the family. John Lennon is so inspired by Pappy that he writes the legendary song With A Little Help From My Friends after attending a dance at the pavilion at Lynns Crossing.
27. 1968
On a family vacation out west, the Crider family stops in Chicago.Pappy accidently starts a riot at the Democratic Convention after he tells Nonnie to fling a poopy diaper out the car window.
28. 1969
Pappy who is lifelong friends with Neil Armstrong,secretly travels to the moon in the Apollo spaceship.
Pappy is sworn to secrecy after the crew encounters aliens. The aliens love Pappy and decide to follow him back to Pennsylvania and to settle in the small town of Moss Creek, where they now hold an annual church picnic.
29. 1969
Pappy drives to Woodstock, N.Y. in hisVolkswagen bus tocounsel a troubled teenager. While there he meets with Max Yasgar and encourages him to let the kids have a "small event" on his farm.
30. 1970While picking weeds to identify on the side of the road, Pappy is disgusted by the litter and comes up with the idea of an annual Earth Day celebration.
31. 1972
Pappy goes tovisit Frank and Stella in suburban Maryland. While there, he goes downtown D.C. and accidentlywitnesses the Watergate burglary. He alerts the Nixon White House, setting off the Watergate coverup.
32. 1973
Pappy goes to the White House to advise Richard Nixon on how to handle the Watergate scandal. While waiting in the secretary's office, Pappy tries to get some dictation done and erasesa few tapes by accident.
33. 1975
Pappy and his friend Jimmy Carter decide to speculate on land in Arkansas.Jimmy loses all of his money and is forced to run for president to support his family.
34. 1976
Pappy goes to Iran and settles the oil embargo by meeting with the Shah so the family can have enough gas to travel to Nonna and Rana's wedding, Mark and Maria's wedding and John and Karens wedding.

35. 1978
After many years of dancing and singing each weekend at the Heidelberg Country Club, Pappy finally gets his big break when he is asked to join the Bee Gees on their hit album Saturday Night Fever.
36. 1970s
Pappy secretly starts the National Organization for Woman and organizes rallies for passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.
37. 1979
While setting off fireworks for his family, Pappy accidently ignites Three Mile Island causing a nuclear meltdown.
38. 1980
Pappy coins the phrase, Its Morning Again in America and helps
his long time friend Ronald Reagan win the White House.
39. 1982
Based on Pappys earlier experience with aliens, he writes an directs the famous movie E.T.
Pappy is too humble to accept the credit and allows Steven Spielberg to accept the Oscar for the movie.
40. 1983
Pappy is inspired after dancing at Ann and Mikes wedding, so he
writes the music to Thriller and then gives it to his friend,
Michael Jackson.
41. 1984
To help entertain his grandchildren, Pappy invents the Nintendo home entertainment and secretly becomes a video game junkie eventually opening gaming stores around the country.
42. 1987
Pappy, while at a high school class reunion in Washington, spends time with old friend Oliver North. Pappy sells his old hunting rifles to Ollie who sells them to Iran--kicking off the national Iran Contra affair.
43. 1989
After a trip with Nonnie to dig for gemstones,
Pappy is inspired to dig for a shiny object on the Berlin Wall causing it to collapseand leading to the fall of Communism
44. 1991
In an effort to notify all his fellow Kiwanians of a change of plans for the Pancake Breakfast, Pappy invents the Internet.
45. 1992
Pappy, without the knowledge of the Republican party in Blair County, is Bill Clintons chief advisor for his presidential campaign. Clinton uses Pappys Bedford County cabin as his summer White House.
46. 1994
After attending a Altoona Curve baseball game with his friend OJ Simpson,OJ and Pappy decide to catch a baseball game in California and begin a cross country car chase that is nationally televised.
47. 1994
Pappy, who on Nonnies directive stops at every yard sale, comes up with the great idea to start one giant yard sale, which he calls a Flea Market starting a fad that sweeps the country.
48. 1995
Pappy goes Green. To help save the environment (and to save money on wrapping paper) Pappy invents his famous famous Pappy Sacks.
49. 1996
Through his extensive use of his burn barrel in the backyard, Pappy punctures a hole in the ozone layer.A visit from hisDemocratic friend Al Gore ensues, leading the two to them to tangle over who really invented the Internet.
50. 1997
Pappy holds a big party for all his friends and introduces Bill Clinton to a former Altoona Hospital social worker named Monica Lewinsky.
51. 1997
Pappy conducts an experiment in his backroom and
and clones a sheep. He names her for his sister in law Dolly.
Later he offers a clone your pet service.
52. 1999
During a hunting trip in Central Pennsylvania,
Pappy saves George Ws life when Dick Cheney loses control of his gun.
As a result, W runs for President and wins.
In return, W names Pappy the Nations Chief Philatelist.
53. 2000
Pappy stops the Y2K Worldwide computer meltdown by marketing his new Accessory Cortexand getting the world to go back to using pocket planners.
54. 2000
After his fight with Al Gore over the Internet, Pappy hangs outwith Chad in Florida and together comes up with a plan to give Florida to Bush-Cheney. In return, Bush gives Pappy a monthly column called The Answer Manin theConservative Chronicle.
55. 2001
Pope John Paul travels around the world with
Papal Advisor Pappy who helps him
modernize the Catholic Church.
56. 2004
Pappysecretly agrees to hosts the underground Bush-Cheney Election Party in the Nest in Lemont.
57. 2005
After being named state national Security Advisory by Tom Ridge,
Pappy tests the post 9-11 airport security system by
trying to sneak an oversize tube of toothpaste through the
Halifax Nova Scotia airport.He tries to sneak a pocket knife through the Airport on the way to Missouri but loses his knife in St. Louis.
58. 2006
Pappy celebrates with his friend Jimmy Dean, on making
their first billion off sausages.Pappy and Dean are childhood friends from Vienna Missouri where aschildren they dreamed of getting rich off a different type of sausage, besides Vienna.
59. 2007
Pappy starts his own clothing linecalled The Pappster. The line features demin coats for all seasons, Mr. Rogers cardigan sweaters and and black shoes.
60. 2008
Pappy quietly sneaks out of Hollidaysburg and travels to Hawaii where he helps his friend Barack Obama manufacture a fake birth certificate so he can run for office.
In return, Pappy is guaranteed to be named
Kiwanian of the Year in 2009.
61. 2008
One night having beers, Pappy convinces long time friend John McCain to pick Sarah Palin as his running mate. Pappy tells McCain You Betcha that Sarah can help you win!
Later McCain accuses Pappy of working for the Obama campaign.
62. 2009
Pappy stars in the movie Gran Torino, but is mistakenfor
Clint Eastwood, who wins a Golden Globe award for Pappysperformance.
63. 2009
After a surprise announcement by the White House, Pappy is named Kiwanian of the Year.
President Obama attends the event.
64. 2010
A BIG BIRTHDAY BASH IS HELD TO CELEBRATE PAPPYS BIG DAY.Many celebrities and famous people show up for the party!

When you think about Pappy Donald, what do you remember?

The first timeDonald came home to metJoAnn's family, We went on a hiking trip up on River Hill they took pictures and we all had a nice time.
After the ceremony of my High School graduation I was walking out and there was Donald and JoAnn. Surprise!!

The day Donald gave me his temporary Doctor's Degree.

And of course all those time when the Criders's were late because of you know Who.

When I think of Donald I remember the time when I was about six years old and he was in medical school.
While Donald was downstairs,I went into his bedroom and he a dead cat on his desk!
He was dissecting this cat and it was all over his desk.
I ran into the hall and started to gag!
He thought this was hilarious!

When I think of Uncle Donald I always remember the time when Louise and I were downstairs in the "secret fallout shelter" and he busted us smoking our first cigarette. We were about 12 or 13, I think. Uncle Donald smelled the smoke, found us, and lectured us about the perils of smoking. Of course, it was all Louise's idea. She was always getting me into trouble. haha! Uncle Donald never told my mom about it!! What a cool dude!

When I think of Donald, I remember the time when he held my hand swinging it walking from my car when we were sight seeing at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs Florida, when he spent a few days visiting me

When I think of Uncle Donald numerous fond memories come to mind. One being how he always enjoyed walking and hiking with John into the mountains. Also, how he was always sitting on the living room couch reading one of his favorite medical magazines. I also remember the fun times at the cottage, and who could ever forget the brain in his office!

When I think of Pappy I remember when we laid on the grass and he showed me constellations when we were Coolfont, West Virginia.

When I think of Pappy I remember when we went to the Altoona Curve Baseball game and it poured on us!

Uncle Donald has always been my favorite uncle. I have a special place in my heart for him.

When I think of Pappy I remember when he would take me to a frozen pond and sit on a log and watch me ice skate for what seemed like hours.I also think about sitting in the car in a parking lot at a store and he came out of the store with a baby doll for me and it wasnt even my birthday!
I also remember him taking me to the mountain to shoot the rifle!

When I think of Pappy I remember how he is the smartest man I have ever met and that I am so lucky to have him as my grandpa.
Iremember when Pappy and I sat on the dock of the lake house and fished.Nonnie cooked up the fish it was the best meal I ever had!

When we think of Uncle Donald we always remember that he always took the time to come and visit us at the store when he was in Freeport

When I think about Pappy I always remember the rubber band fights in the Nest.
I remember the nest invasions and eating his cheese snacks, Oreo cookies and his candy.

When I think of Pappy I remember when when we were in Arizona he got up at 3 AM to go Javalina hunting.
I remember all of the road trips he went with me on the back roads of Pennsylvania.
I also remember catching him talking to Lois (his cat) when he didnt think anyone was home!
I also remember that he used to take me (only me) to Baskin Robbins for ice cream as a special date.

When I think of Pappy I remember whenwe had to jump a fence and run through a field to pick a weed for him that he spied while driving along a highway on vacation. Even worse once he identified it I promptly forgot the name of it.

I rememberriding on his back while he swam. I remember how concerned he was when we were on the floor of the VW in Nebraska during a tornado.
I also remember him teaching me to drive the VWand I stalled it on the railroad tracks as a train was coming...I guess he was a little worried then but I was too freakedout to notice.

When I think of Pappy I remember a massive pillow fight with Pappy while Bob and Louise were out.
He cleaned it up before Bob and Louise got home and hid all the evidence including the torn pillows. Pappy the rule breaker

When I think of Pappy I remember him writing
in his accessory cortex.
I also remember the time that I stole his
cortexand wrote all through it.
Since then he wouldnt let me near it!

MARIAOh, and I remember Pappy swimming across the bottom of a hotel pool while we were on vacation and surfacing with the tip of his long nose all bloody.And the time he killed the snake while we were on a hike in Virginia and he took it home and put it in Nonnie's freezer. And when Louise fell out of back of the Volkswagen bus when we were leaving the grocery store in Hollidaysburg because he didn't slam the trunk...and he swore us all to secrecy because Nonnie would have killed him. I remember when I was dating Mark, and Pappy would drive Mark home at the end of the night. Mark only lived 10 minutes away, but Pappy, without saying a word, would often set off on long, meandering rides through the dark countryside while we cuddled in the backseat.

When I think of Pappy I remember when I accidentally smacked him in the nose with his hammer when 'helping' put up a bird cage in Staunton. I remember singing in the car on trips--he was the only one in tune.
I remember how proud he was of his fallout shelter,-and how stressed out he was after spending half a day inside it with four kids.
I remember how accurate he looked as a caveman at Mom and Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary Party.
I remember how cool we thought it was to have a Dad who knew his way around DC-like having our own travel guide

When I think of Pappy I rememberwhen I would come down stairs in the morning and he would be eating a big bowl of Cheerios and he would sit and talk to me about my life.

When I think of Donald I always remember when he was in medical school and I had just had Glen.He asked me to look at my stitches, and I said NO!
