She lays out many things that would have to happen before such an attack would take place. The United States and the many other parties now consumed with Iran’s controversial nuclear program have at least a year of intense diplomacy — and possibly much longer — before they even consider military options. And that assumes diplomacy totally collapses, the Iranians can be clearly blamed, and reliable intelligence proves Tehran’s program has crossed a critical threshold. With Iran, the state-of-play is rarely that straightforward. First, Iranians are masters at brinksmanship. Diplomacy always gets dragged out, and even negotiations that appear dead have a way of miraculously reviving — like an Iranian merchant chasing a customer down the dusty alleyways of Tehran’s Grand Bazaar to renegotiate a price and avoid losing the sale. Iran has called for talks with its Western interlocutors after Ramadan, the holy month of fasting that ends in mid-September. (Last week, The New Yorker published an interview with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivering that message yet again.) The Obama administration is currently preparing for those talks — and taking them seriously. The main focus would be an interim deal, which would in turn open the way for comprehensive talks on Iran’s nuclear program. If Iran is also serious, this two-phase diplomatic process could go into late 2011 or longer. Second, the Islamic Republic is also adept at not saying no. If diplomacy ultimately breaks down, Tehran has a long history of making it appear (sometimes accurately) that the impatient West walked away first — and should be blamed for failure. The perception about who is to blame is critical to the next step — returning to the United Nations for another resolution imposing more stringent sanctions or endorsing other punitive action. For the United States and its European allies to win backing for meaningful measures — and not face a Russian or Chinese veto — Iran must be seen as the guilty party. The shrewd Iranians know that. It’s hard to see the Obama administration ordering waves of bombers to strike Iran–or turning a blind eye to an Israeli attack — without at least trying another round at the United Nations. The last U.N. resolution took a full year to negotiate. The next one could be even tougher. Third, among the many things being debated in many capitals is just what the threshold for military action should be. Should it be Iran building a bomb, like Pakistan? Or having a quick turn-around capability, like Japan? Or achieving a certain number of centrifuges? Or gaining some murkier level of knowledge? Capitals currently disagree. Amassing accurate intelligence on any of these questions is also tough, one reason for the delay in a new National Intelligence Estimate on Iran, which was originally due last year. Since 2003, when Iran was forced to admit it had secret facilities, much of U.S. intelligence has been based on deductive reasoning rather than tangible proof. Revelations last fall about another secret facility in Qom to enrich uranium changed that somewhat — but not on a lot of other fundamental questions about what Iran is really up to. After the intelligence fiasco over Iraq’s alleged weapons of mass destruction, hopefully the United States will not again undertake an act of war on the basis of guestimates [sic] and questionable sources. The bottom line: It’s not nearly as simple as this [ Goldberg's. CiJ] article portrays. Wright goes on to describe all the players who would then need to be satisfied before such an attack could take place, including another year of diplomacy at the UN to work out yet another set of sanctions. And her article may well reflect the Obama administration’s thinking. But it doesn’t reflect Israel’s. Here’s what she says about us: The Point of No Return” frames the tough decisions ahead from only a single prism — Israel and its hawkish prime minister. Throughout most of the piece, Operation Strike Iran is portrayed as a virtual fait accompli. Only at the end does it acknowledge that the Israeli army chief of staff has doubts about the usefulness of bombing Iran (as do many in the American military) and that Israeli President Shimon Peres is “uncomfortable” with unilateral action and thinks Israel “can afford to recognize its limitations.” Israeli politicians are not naïve about the costs and consequences of attacking Iran, which Goldberg rightly suggests stand “a good chance of changing the Middle East forever.” Other Israelis surely accept that the real danger is unleashing an even graver existential threat from a wider array of sources than Israel already faces. Peres is an 87-year old figurehead who has a rich past but no political power. The Defense Minister is in the process of selecting a new IDF chief of staff, who is more likely to reflect Prime Minister Netanyahu’s ‘hawkishness’ than the current chief of staff whose contract did not receive a routine one-year extension. And while Wright may be correct about the Obama administration’s thinking, there’s another factor she did not consider: If we wait to jump through all the hoops she throws out, Iran will be nuclear long before the decision is made. Who is Really Politicizing Ground Zero?by Daniel Greenfield @ theSultan Knish blog (Hija del Zionpara Israel - Daughter of Zionfor Israel)

Submitted at 8/17/2010 8:30:00 PM

After crunching the numbers andrealizing that backing a mosque nearGround Zero, plays to averageAmericans about as well as flagburning on 4th of July, the Demshave emerged with a new talkingp o i n t . T h e R e p u b l i c a n s a r e“politicizing” Ground Zero. Thanksto the exposure of Jornolist, we’vealready seen how liberal mediapundits and Democratic campaignstrategists collaborate to develop anddistribute talking points in responseto a setback. Now we’re seeing thesame thing at work as Time’s MarkHalperin goes around promoting the“politicizing Ground Zero” talkingpoint. It’s already been picked up bySenator Robert Menendez andGovernor Christie, who worked toh e l p H a m a s l i n k e d I m a m ,Mohammad Qatanani , s tay inAmerica . But let’s talk about who’s really beenpolit icizing Ground Zero. Themosque’s biggest supporter, MayorMichael Bloomberg, had aggressivelytried to politicize Ground Zero backin 2005 with the InternationalFreedom Center, with George Sorosand the ACLU pushing exhibits onIslamophobia and the loss of civilliberties in America. Governor Patakishut down the IFC’s plans topo l i t i c i ze Ground Ze ro ove rB l o o m b e r g ’ s l o u d p r o t e s t s .Meanwhile the current plans forexhibits commemorating 9/11 at thesite are being attacked by liberalscomplaining about a “ lack ofcontext”, which is their way of sayingthat they want to politicize the site bysuggesting that America was toblame. The New York Times has added itsvoice to the chorus of complaintsabout “politicizing Ground Zero”.But in 2005, the Times editorialcomplained that Campaign America’scall to refrain from politicizingGround Zero is Un-American. Thec y n i c i s m h e r e i s v i r t u a l l yu n b e l i e v a b l e . The entire “Politicizing GroundZero” talking point is a response tothe fallout from Obama’s ownattempt to politicize Ground Zero bypandering to a Muslim crowd. Whenthe polls number turned red, themedia rushed to attack Republicansfor pol i t ic iz ing Obama’s ownpoliticization of the issue. Theyclaimed that Obama had just beenfunctioning as a Constitutional lawprofessor, delivering an abstractlecture on law at a White House eventaimed at pandering to Muslims. Thetransparent ridiculousness of thisexcuse is almost lost in the clamor ofself-righteousness, as the biggestsupporters of the IFC suddenlydiscover a heartfelt desire not to

allow politics to intrude on GroundZero. But just as with the IFC, the realpoliticization comes from Islam andthe Left. It was Imam Rauf’s plan fora Cordoba House mosque nearGround Zero that was a deliberateattempt to politicize the site, with anIslamic message. Rauf himselfemphasized the location, “ New Yorkis the capital of the world, and thislocation close to 9/11 is iconic.” Inresponse to Governor Patterson’ssuggestion that he move the mosqueelsewhere, Rauf backtracked claimingthat, “ this has always been aboutserving Lower Manhattan“. But thereis no actual Muslim community inLower Manhattan, certainly not onethat requires a 100 million dollarmosque. Rauf himself had previouslyadmitted that his mosque does notcater to any Lower Manhattancommunity: “ The people who comehere for jum’a [prayer] come fromwithin the New York tri-state area. Ofcourse, the majority work aroundhere, but a number of them comefrom Uptown, Brooklyn or NewJersey, specifically to participate inthe Friday prayer here and to hear mysermon.” The mosque he has now servesMuslims who work in the area.Commuters. This isn’t about servinga phantom Muslim community inLower Manhattan. And commutersdon’t need a 100 million dollarmosque and community center. Basedon the l ike ly number o f h i sworshipers, Rauf would be spendingroughly a million dollars per Muslimfor a facility that very few of themeven live near to. Imam Rauf and his media defendershave compared this to building aJewish community center. But thereare over 25,000 Jewish household inLower Manhattan, or almost 20percent of the population. There is nostatistically significant Muslimpopulation in the area. The 2000census showed 3,522 people living in

the Ground Zero mosque zip code,375 of whom identified as Asian.Consider ing the proximi ty ofChinatown, it’s likely that theyactually are Asian, as opposed toPakistani or Bangladeshi. (And thedirector of Al Arabiya has confirmedthat:“there are no practicing Muslimsin the area who need a place toworship“.) What the census numbersalso show is that the mosque is beingbuil t in an area with a smallresidential population, that is heavilycommercial, with far more officesthan homes. Even if everyone livingin that zip code were a Muslim, Raufwould still be proposing to spendnearly 30,000 dollars per Muslim onthe mosque. But since they are notMuslims, what Rauf is proposing is a100 million dollar expansion in anarea whose Muslims are outsidecommuters and genera l ly usebasement and storefront mosques. Building a 100 million dollar facilityfor Muslims that most of them canonly use on their lunch break orbriefly after work, before they gohome to Brooklyn or New Jersey, isnot about serving the community. It’sabout making a statement. Therewould be no way to raise that kind ofmoney otherwise. Rauf is notbuilding a facility that local Muslimsneed. His flock comes from differentboroughs and states entirely. Theyhang around Lower Manhattan as partof the Hallal Mafia, peddlingunhygienic burned food from carts, orin storefronts selling cheap knockoffsof brand name merchandise, piratedDVD’s and used clothes belowBroadway. Some of them work asfinancial analysts helping Wall Streetget the whole Sharia Finance thingright. There might be a call for a 100million dollar facility aimed atMuslims in Jersey City or off AtlanticAvenue, but no need or use for it nearGround Zero. There is no reason tobuild a Mosque there, except to makea statement. Rauf admitted as much

early on, billing the mosque as part ofa campaign of tolerance or healing.knowing that most liberals would notlook past such euphemisms andenthusiastically embrace the projectto showcase their vaunted tolerance, and re jec t ion of “ r igh t wingextremists”. That Rauf himself isquite the extremist has not interestedthem at all. The same Time Magazinewhich wrings its hands over the“politicization” of Ground Zero haswhitewashed Rauf and his own plansto politicize the site. Just as the rest oft h e m e d i a h a s i g n o r e d t h einconsistencies in Rauf’s changingstory, questions about where themoney is coming from, and the mostelementary question– who actuallyneeds the Ground Zero Mosque. But the media’s endorsement for theGround Zero Mosque is radically outof step with most Americans and withmost New Yorkers. When the ADLand the Simon Wiesenthal Centerboth rejected the mosque, they werein line with the 66 percent of JewishNew Yorkers who oppose themosque. Their leftist critics on theother hand were out of step andwrong. And as a sign that JewishNew Yorkers are ahead of the curvein recognizing what Islam is, a higherpercent of Jews, than Catholics orP r o t e s t a n t s , s a i d t h a t I s l a mencourages violence. Despite theleading questions, nearly a tie at 41 to42 percent. Catholics were not veryfar behind at 31- 48. New York CityProtestants on the other hand insistedthat Islam was peaceful at a ratio of68 to 12. Latinos oppose the Ground ZeroMosque in higher numbers than evenwhites at 60 percent to 56 percent.Jews oppose it by 66 percent. 49percent of them have an unfavorableview of Islam. New York Womenwere more l ike ly to have anunfavorable view of Islam than men.Women were more likely to think that

Israel Wakes Up and Discovers Its SoldiersAbuse Palestiniansby Richard Silverstein (Hija delZion para Israel - Daughter ofZion for Israel)

Submitted at 8/17/2010 3:59:21 PM

Eden Aberjil's Facebook imagescaptioned: 'Army service, the mostwonderful time of my life!' Yesterday, a major scandal eruptedin Israel over an IDF soldier, EdenAberjil, who posted pictures on herFacebook account of her abusingbound Palestinian prisoners.  AllIsrael appears to be SHOCKED, I sayshocked, to discover that its soldiersactual ly taunt and gloat overPalestinians in such a way.  It appearsthat such Israelis ei ther don’tremember their own service in theTerritories or are so old that theirservice predates the In t i fada . Examples of such photos are sowidespread both online and privatelythat the real shock is that anyone ISshocked. This scandalized reaction is furtherindication of the absolute disconnectbetween Israelis and the Occupation. I hate to say this, but they are littlebetter than the neighbors of theconcentration camps who saw no eviland heard no evil.  It is all too easy inIsrael now to be a nice liberal who tut-tuts when confronted by such imagesas Aberjil displayed, but who wouldfar prefer to have the Occupationexist in some foreign or alien spacethey don’t visit either physically ormentally. The IDF proclaims itself scandalizedthat one of its members wouldmisbehave in such a fashion.  Thecompany line is that its soldierssimply do not do such things. And ifone does, that soldier is violatingmilitary procedure and discipline. The entire response is a sham, avirtual Potemkin village of fine moralstatements which conceal a nasty,b r u t i s h O c c u p a t i o n i n t h eb a c k g r o u n d . T h e a r m y i s t a l k i n g a b o u tdisciplining Aberjil for her actions, which is utter bullshit.  There areliterally thousands, if not tens ofthousands of pictures out there withvirtually the same content; the sameblindfolded Palestinians, the samesmiling IDF soldiers besides them. Will the IDF prosecute all of them? I hate to be a broken record but thereis only one way to end this moralscandal and it isn’t by putting Aberjilon KP duty for a week.  It’s to endthe Occupation entirely so thatIsrael’s children won’t be put in suchsituations to begin with.  We can seefrom Abu Graibh and Guantanamothat Israelis are neither better norworse than any other occupyingsoldiers.  When one country occupiesanother the occupier victimizes theoccupied.  The story is as old as thehistory of human warfare.  The wayto stop this is to end the conflict.

Disabled Palestinian youth trappedby teargas If you don’t believe me about theprevalence of these abusive imagesonline then check out this Facebooksite, which displays many suchimages taken from the Facebookgroup devoted to the Israeli BorderPolice, a particularly nasty, brutishbranch of miltiary service.  It’s a pitythat few of you can read Hebrew asthe comments under these images arein some cases more revolting than theimages. To her credit, Aberjil has defendedherself rather than bowed her head asthe IDF would no doubt prefer.  It’spossible that once they work her overa bit and make her realize how muchthey can damage her future that shewill put her tail between her legs andtell the world what a bad girl she waspromising never to do it again.  Butright now, she’s professing herinnocence (somewhat disingenuouslyI might add).  The N.Y. Times quotesher as saying:[She] said that the “pictures weretaken in good will, there was nostatement in them.” She added thatthey were not intended to humiliatethe prisoners but merely to documenther “military experience,” and thatshe had no idea they “would beproblematic.” Which is terribly disingenuous whenyou know that among her commentson her pictures were disparaging

remarks about the Palest inianprisoners genitals.  I think it would befar better for her to argue that she didnothing that the average IDF drafteedoesn’t do virtually every day ofservice.  They certainly see andparticipate in such degrading eventsand sometimes they even documentt h e m o n v i d e o o r t h r o u g hphotographs.  Here is a samplingfrom a Facebook group founded tofeature these images. Among the comments for the photo:“One of the funniest days–I can stillremember there were about 100disabled people in wheelchairs and aswe began to shoot at them they allsuddenly became healthy and beganto run.”“Ha, ha, ha–let’s see you with threestun grenades in your wheelchair ifyou don’t get up and start to run.” The follow-up story from The Ledelinked above provides comprehensivebackground documentation of thepsychological damage that theOccupation inflicts on Israeli soldiers(and by extension Palestinians aswell). Saudi comedy provokes anger with episode inwhich woman marries four husbandsby Marisol (Hija del Zion paraIsrael - Daughter of Zion forIsrael)

Saudi comedy provokes anger withepisode in which woman marries fourh u s b a n d s C a l l i t i n t e r f a i t hcooperation of sorts, as steamingSaudi Sunnis prove the Shi’iteAyatollah Khomeini’s assertion that: Allah did not create man so that hecould have fun. The aim of creationwas for mankind to be put to the testthrough hardship and prayer. AnIslamic regime must be serious inevery field. There are no jokes inIslam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can beno fun and joy in whatever isserious.”“Role reversa l Saudi comedyp r o v o k e s a n g e r a m o n g m a l epopulation,” by Richard Spencer forthe Telegraph, August 17: A role reversal comedy shown onSaudi television in which a womanmarries four husbands has hit the verynerve it satirised – male pride anddouble standards. The comedy was an episode in SaudiArabia’s most celebrated satirical

series, Tash Ma Tash or No Big Deal,a take-off of social prejudices shownannually during the holy month ofRamadan. The central character takes fourhusbands, explaining herself usingthe conventional arguments Saudimen use to exercise their legal andreligious privilege of marrying fourtimes. When she remarries for the first timeshe complains that her existinghusband has stopped caring about hislooks af ter f ive years , and ispreoccupied with work. The next marriage is for a dare withfriends, and the fourth marriage, to aSyrian, she explains by saying thatshe is now bored with Saudi men. Then she decides she wants to marryfor a fifth time, making the fourhusbands draw lots to see who will bedivorced and plunging them into amorass of jealousy. Conservative imams, currently on thedefensive as King Abdullah attemptsto modernise some social attitudes inthe country, have been predictablyhostile, while men on internet bulletinboards have attacked the series aspromoting prostitution.“What this does is hurt us,” said one

imam, Sheikh Saad Al-Buraik. “Inthe name of comedy, they make funof our religion and beliefs.” There areregular calls to ban Tash Ma Tash, but it is said to be one of KingAbdullah’s favourite programmes.Last week, an episode also provokedcontroversy, portraying two men whovisit the brother of their dead mother,a foreign-born Arab, only to discoverhe is a Christian priest. The shock lies in discovering thatdespite his religion, they come torespect him for his honesty andgenerosity. And that’s drawn fire as well, withReuters reporting:“A Muslim is allowed to praise onlythe one true religion — Islam,” saidEissa al-Ghaith, a judge at the JusticeMinistry, in remarks carried by al-Madina newspaper on Sunday. Independent I s lamic scholarAbdulwahab al-Salhi sa id the“indecent lot of ‘Tash Ma Tash’ …used drama to destroy Muslims’s table re l ig ious pr inciples byportraying Christians as believers andnot apostates.” Posted by Marisol on August 17,2010 3:29 PM| No Comments

Refuting the ‘colonialist’ memeby Carl in Jerusalem (Hija delZion para Israel - Daughter ofZion for Israel)

Submitted at 8/17/2010 8:33:00 PM

Refuting the ‘colonialist’ meme DoreGold takes apart the notion that Israelis a colonialist state. Unl ike the charge of rac ia lseparation, the tag “colonialist”cannot be refuted simply by lookingaround modern Israel. It is a historicalcharge about how Israel came toexist: In effect, it amounts to theclaim that Israel was established as anoutpost of another distant powerimposing itself on the territory and itsnative inhabitants. But the fact is thatwhile modern Israel succeeded the1922 British Mandate for Palestine, itwas created by neither the British norany other occupying power. The Jews were already asserting theirright to self-determination well beforethe British and the French dismantledthe Ottoman Empire. For example, the Jewish people had already re-es tab l i shed the i r ma jor i ty inJerusalem by 1863. Decades later,Britain and the rest of the League ofNations considered Jewish rights inPalestine beyond their power tobestow because those rights were

already there to be accepted. Thus theLeague of Nations gave recognitionto “the historical connection of theJewish people with Palestine.” Inother words, it recognized a pre-e x i s t i n g r i g h t . I t c a l l e d f o r“reconstituting” the Jewish people’snational home. And the rightsrecognized by the League of Nationsin 1922 were preserved by itssuccessor organization, the UnitedNations, which in Article 80 of itscharter acknowledged all rights ofstates and peoples that existed before1945. The accusation that Israel hascolonialist roots because of itsconnection to the British Mandate isironic, since most of the Arab statesowe their origins to the entry anddomination of the European powers.Prior to World War I, the Arab statesof Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordandid not exist, but were only districtsof the Ottoman Empire, underdifferent names. They became statesas a result of European intervention,wi th t he Br i t i sh pu t t i ng theHashemite family in power in two ofthese countries. Saudi Arabia and the smaller Gulfstates, meanwhile, emerged fromtreaties that their leaders signed with

Britain. By means of those treaties, the British recognized the legitimacyof local Arab families to rule whatbecame states like Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. A similar British treatywith the al-Saud family in 1915 setthe stage for the eventual emergenceof Saudi Arabia in 1932. Moreover, during Israel’s War ofIndependence, Arab armies benefiteddirectly from European arms andtraining—and even manpower. TheArab Legion initially fought inJerusalem with British officers, whilethe skies of the Egyptian Sinai were

protected from the Israeli Air Forceby the Royal Air Force. Indeed,Israeli and British aircraft clashed in1949. A Lasting Connection with theTzaddikby LazerBeams (Hija del Zionpara Israel - Daughter of Zionfor Israel)

A Lasting Connection with theT z a d d i k M y m a t e r n a l g r e a tgrandfather, Reb Yankev (“TheBlacksmith”) Podrub from Grodno,Belarus (formerly Poland) was alegendary figure in the annals ofStolin-Karlin Chassidus. He armswere like twisted steel, but hisdisposition was extremely gentle.Although he was a blacksmith. hewas also a Talmudic scholar. Heworked so that his brother, Arie Leib, could attend rabbinical yeshiva.Ultimately, Arie Leib became thehead rabbi of Meretch in Lithuania. The renowned “Yanuka” of Stolin, the famous Rebbe Yisroel Perlovo b ’ m w h o h a d o v e r 2 0 , 0 0 0Chassidim, would stay in RebYankev’s house every ShabbatChanuka when he’d v is i t h ischassidim in Grodno. Even more, TheStoliner Rebbe – who loved horses –insisted that only Reb Yankev shoehis horses. What was so special about RebYankev? He never spoke small talk.Even at work, he’d mumble tehillimand mishnayot. Also, his trust inHashem was phenominal – he’d onlywork long enough to earn that sameday’s bread with one extra kopeck; he

saved the extra kopecks in a jar allyear long, and then at the end of theyear, he’d use the money to travel tohis Rebbe in Stol in for RoshHashanna. As such, my greatgrandfather lived his connection withthe tzaddik all year long. The minute Reb Yankev finished hisday’s work, he’d fly up the stairs tothe Stoliner shtiebel, convenientlylocated on the second floor over thesmithy, and open up a Gemara.Grodno lore holds him as one of thehidden tzaddikim of the area, may hisblessed memory be cherished always. I heard the above stories and manymore from my grandmother Kailie ofblessed memory, from Rav YitzchakKulitz of blessed memory, formerhead Rabbi of Jerusalem, who as alittle boy saw my great grandfather, and from Rav Benyamin Adler shlit’aof Jerusalem, whose uncle knew mygreat grandfather well, and from theelderly Stolin-Karlin chassidim ofJerusalem.******* Trying to emula te my grea tgrandfather, I set aside twenty dollarsevery week and put them in a specialenvelope marked, “Uman – RoshHashanna.” That way, I live RoshHashanna with my beloved Rebbe,Rebbe Nachman of Breslev, all yearlong. Today, I’m doubly happy, for I nowhave my fully-paid ticket to Uman for

this coming Rosh Hashanna, 5771.Just hearing the name “RebbeNachman of Breslev” is enough tokindle a fire in my heart. I know that alte zaidie(Yiddish forg r e a t g r a n d f a t h e r ) h a snachas(gratification) that his greatgranchildren are continuing on in theway of Torah and Chassidus. Youknow what that means? Islam encourages violence, and lesslikely to see it as a peaceful religion. And they were more likely to opposethe mosque than men, 54 to 50.Statistics that can probably beexplained by Muslim genderedviolence and attacks on women. Butwhat these numbers mean is that evenDemocrats in one of the more liberalcities in America, can’t win on thisissue with Latino, Jewish, Catholic orWomen voters. And without thosevotes, their only base of support islocated on the Upper East Side. T h i s i s w h y C o n g r e s s i o n a lDemocrats and their media defendersare running scared. Because theycan’t win on this, and they know it.And so after endorsing Rauf’spoliticization of Ground Zero, they’renow claiming that it’s Republicanswho oppose his Islamist politicizationof Ground Zero that are the onespoliticizing it. It’s a repeat of thesame cynical game they played 5years ago with the IFC. The onlyright answer is to stand up to theCordoba House’s attempt to politicize

Ground Zero. But instead of doingthat, they’ve tried to take the issue offthe table. Which just means silencinganyone who dares speak out againstthe Ground Zero Mosque. The facts are in We know ImamRauf’s support for Islamic law, whichtreats Christians, Jews and Women asinferior. We know that the GroundZero Mosque has no legitimatepurpose. That it does not exist toserve a local community. We knowthat the money is coming from thesame countries that financed AlQueda. We know. And we knowwho’s really politicizing GroundZero. It’s the Left and Islam whorefuse to let the dead rest, withoutshoving in their revisionist historyinto the mix. Without trying to hijackthe site to suit their own agenda.Enough is enough. Increased US – Israel militarycooperationby Carl in Jerusalem (Hija delZion para Israel - Daughter ofZion for Israel)

Increased US – Israel militarycooperation As part of a report onincreased cooperation between theIDF and the US military, the WallStreet Journal recounts this story of arecent joint exercise. This month, about 200 U.S. Marinesjoined a battalion of Israeli soldiersfor an all-night march through theNegev desert, the culmination ofthree weeks of joint drills. As dawnapproached, they crept up on a mockvillage, an Israeli military-builtrecreation of a typical Palestinianhamlet, used for combat training. E x p l o s i o n s , t r i g g e r e d b ypyrotechnics engineers, shook thenight. Soldiers from another Israeliunit , playing the role of Arabguerrillas, crouched in the fakevillage’s narrow allies and emptycinderblock homes. They shouted“Allahu Akbar,” Arabic for “God isGreat,” and rattled off rounds ofblank ammunition from machine gunsat the invading U.S. and Israeliforces. Behind a dune on the village’s edge,a U.S. Marine company commanderconferred with his Israeli counterpartbefore the two barked orders—theMarine in English, the Israeli inHebrew—to soldiers scattered behindthem. As dawn gave way to theNegev desert’s grinding August heat, the forces battled house-to-house inmock battle, as Israeli and Marinegenerals watched on from thesidelines. The exercise was the biggest U.S.-Israeli joint infantry exercise ever,a c c o r d i n g t o o f f i c i a l s . B ycomparison, at the same exercise lastyear, there were only around 20 U.S.

Marines involved. In the fall, therewill be an even bigger joint infantryexercise involving tanks and armoredvehicles, officials said. The problem is that there are twoulterior motives for this cooperation. One is for it to act as insurance thatIsrael does not go off and strike Iranon its own. And the other is to try topry concessions to the ‘Palestinians’out of Israel. So is all this cooperation a good dealfor Israel? Well, maybe. Another partof it is increased aid to Israel, whichhas been comes amid increased aidand arms sales to the Arab countries. That has to make you wonder whatthe US is trying to accomplish here. The Arab countries are even lesslikely to use those arms to protectthemselves against Iran, although it isconceivable that they will use themagainst Israel in the future (Godforbid) or that they will ultimately fallinto the hands of terrorists. It seems that it would be muchcheaper and would have theadvantage of not fueling an arms raceif the US didn’t increase the militaryaid, gave up on trying to get the

‘Palestinians’ to accept a state, andattacked Iran on its own. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 2:43AM Hija del Zion para Israel SupportIsrael• Sweden: Syrian diplomat tried tokidnap daughter because he didn’tapprove of her boyfriend Sweden:Syrian diplomat tried to kidnapdaughter because he didn't approve ofh e r b o y f r i e n d. . .• Defending Obama on IsraelD e f e n d i n g O b a m a o n I s r a e lNo, of course I'm not going to defendPresident Obama's policies on Israel. But Representative Steve Rothman(D-NJ) ha...• Israel/Palestine and Iran: LinkageShould be Hard Wired by ObamaTeam Another book that Obama tookvery seriously and had his picsnapped with is Fareed Zakaria's ThePost-American World. Lebanese pass law to allow Palestinians to havejobsby Elder of Ziyon (Hija del Zionpara Israel - Daughter of Zionfor Israel)

From Naharnet: Palestinian Ambassador to LebanonAbdullah Abdullah on Tuesdaylauded as “a progressive s tepforward” Lebanese parliament’sadoption of a law granting fullemployment rights to Palestinianrefugees in Lebanon, but said in astatement that the step “does not meetall of our demands.” He said Palestinians would continueto push for their rights, “primarily the

right to own property.” The Lebanese constitution prohibitsthe naturalization of the refugees, butPalestinian officials have consistentlys a i d t h e y r e f u s e p e r m a n e n tr e s e t t l e m e n t i n L e b a n o n . Note that last paragraph: Palestinian“officials” say they refuse permanentsettlement, but Lebanese Palestiniansthemselves would disagree strongly.As I have mentioned before, in the1950s, Lebanon offered citizenship tomany Christian Palestinians as wellas Musl ims who could proveLebanese ancestry, and some 50,000people jumped at the offer. Aloophole that opened up in 1994 that

offered citizenship was equallypounced upon and tens of thousandsmore became Lebanese citizens –many even falsifying papers- beforethat loophole was closed. In other words, the Palestinian“officials” in Lebanon are totally atodds with what a great percentage ofLebanese Palestinians really want. Note also that the idea of PalestinianLebanese owning land was taken outof the proposed bill. Did You Know That There Is AMosque Inside The Pentagon?by NoahDavidSimon (Hija delZion para Israel - Daughter ofZion for Israel)

By Geoffrey Grider • August 16,2010—————————————————————————— What the..? In all the furor over theproposed mosque at Ground Zero, there is another mosque that doesn’tseem to bother anyone at all. Want totake a guess where it is? It’s insidethe Pentagon where an army of over100 Muslim clerics dispense theKoran on a daily basis. Did you know that there is a mosqueinside the Pentagon?“Navy imam Chaplain Abuhena M.Saifulislam lifted his voice to God ashe called to prayer more than 100Department of Defense employeesMonday at a celebration of Ramadanat the Pentagon. God is most great, sang the lieutenant commander andIslamic leader, in Arabic, as iftar –the end of the daily fast began.Uniformed mil i tary personnel ,civilians and family members facedMecca and knelt on adorned prayerrugs chanting their prayers in quietinvocation to Allah.” source –

Salon.com This is what the Muslims did to thePentagon on 9/11. Now there is amosque inside the Pentagon. The “ground zero mosque” storyseems to be dying down, but nothinglays bare the absurdity of what we’vejust lived through quite so much asthis Washington Times story, quotedabove, from 2007. Yes, Muslims haveinfiltrated the Pentagon for theirnefarious, prayerful purposes —daring to practice their religion insidethe building where 184 people diedon Sept. 11, 2001. They haven’t even had the sensitivityto move two blocks, let alone a mile, away from that sacred site. The“desecration” began shockingly soonafter the attacks. Cox reported inOctober 2001: Army Chaplain Abdul-Rasheed Muhammad, the f i rs tMuslim chaplain to serve in themilitary, read a verse from the Koranat the memorial service at thePentagon on Thursday, exactly onemonth after the attack. Muhammad, who became a chaplain eight yearsago and works at Walter ReedMedical Center in Washington, ministered to rescuers in front of thesmoldering Pentagon after the attack.Any guesses as to why no one has

ever heard about Muslims praying atthe Pentagon — let alone cared? ”source – Salon.com“We live in a great nation,” saidmaster of ceremonies Air Force Lt.Col.
