FOCUS FOR SEMESTER 1(for 1E3)
•EmpathyExperience of understanding another person's thoughts, feelings, and condition from his or her point of view, rather than from one's own
•Friendship
BASIC CLASS RULES• Respect – raise your hand before speaking,
listen when others are talking. Respect teachers, school staff, peers and school properties.
• Focus - Be on task and be prepared to learn everyday.
• Responsible – submit your homework on time, do your best in your school work and CCA. Do your classroom duty.
BASIC EXPECTATION• Be in the hall by 7.20 am unless there is valid
reason.
• Be accountable – absence from school must be accompanied by an MC.
• Have an English storybook (not comic book) for reading every morning.
• Have your student handbook with you everyday and use it diligently.
• Ask questions politely if you are unclear.
BASIC EXPECTATION• Homework must be submitted on time and you
must do your best ( ≠perfect) for every assignment.
• Correct your mistakes when your teachers go through the errors. Mistakes are important!
• Be organized and file your work.
• Seek help from your teachers early.
• It is alright to learn slower, but not alright to be lazy.
BASIC EXPECTATIONAn atmosphere of mutual respect and support in the
classroom where everyone feels safe in expressing
concerns or asking questions, and where tolerance and a
sense of common identity and community are
promoted. Students are not to laugh or get angry at
someone who didn’t know the answer, but to be
supportive and applaud their efforts. It is acceptable to
make mistakes when learning, in fact making mistakes
is important for true learning to take place.
