IMPORTANT! “In-House” Second Collection, Next Week

All donations will remain here in the parish! Next weekend, we will take up the annual second collection for Holy Trinity Parish FUEL. Please consider making a donation to this worthy cause.

Repair The “deceased” sound system amplifier was preplaced last Tuesday. Let God’s Word be clearly heard and understood!

NEXT SUNDAY

We are looking for parishioners to serve our Faith Community as: Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes (Altar Servers), Sunday, 5:30 Mass Volunteer Choir Members, Sacred Environment (liturgical decorations, flowers, cleaning), Liturgical Catechists (Rel. Education), daily Breakfast Line, monthly Food Pantry, the Homeless Shelter at Ascension Church (107th Street), etc. Talk among yourselves, and with our priests, to discern what you can offer to your fellow parishioners. Sunday, Feb. 24th, Rectory Conference Room, 12:15 to 1:30 or 4:00 to 5:30.

The Cardinal’s Appeal focuses on assistance for needy parishes, pastoral and administrative support, funding for parish schools, formation of new priests, and a home for retired priests. Our parishes are the lifeblood of the archdiocese. The Cardinal’s Appeal supports our spiritual homes during the times when they cannot support themselves. A full half of funds collected go to needy parishes. Last year your gifts enabled the archdiocese to help 31 parishes. Holy Trinity is fortunate to have sufficient funds to maintain our upkeep, and we are happy to share our bounty with less affluent parishes

The goal for Holy Trinity this year is $69,500. We ask that you consider making this a true parish-wide event and join your fellow parishioners in donating.

+ Pope Francis on the Beatitudes + “The Beatitudes are the path that God indicates as an answer to the desire of happiness inherent in man, and perfects the Commandments of the Old Coven-ant. In these words is all the novelty brought by Christ, and the whole novelty of Christ is in thee words. In Fact, the Beatitudes are Jesus’ portrait, his way of life, and they are the way of true happiness, which we can also live with the grace that Jesus gives us. In addition to the new law, Jesus also gives us the ‘protocol’ on which we will be judged. We will be judged at the end of the world. And what are the questions we will be asked there? What is the protocol on which the Judge will judge us? [The Beatitudes] are the questions we will be asked on Judgment Day. We won’t have titles, credits or privileges to put forward. The Lord will recognize us if, in turn, we recognized him in the poor, the hungry, the indigent and marginalized, in the suffering.”

Rema mar adentro!
