REFLECTION
“Jesus said to him, ‘Go and do likewise.’” (Luke 10:37)
This was Jesus’ command at the end of the Good Samaritan story. Did you know that the
Samaritans and Jews despised each other. The moral of the story is to love our neighbor. That
means loving someone you may not know or someone that looks different than you or
someone that you don’t like. All without expecting anything in return.
LEAVE A LEGACY: Stewardship engenders a spirituality that deepens our relationship with
Jesus. Stewardship involves intentional, planned, and proportionate giving of our time , talent,
and treasure..

HOW TO INVOLVE YOUR FAMILY AT MASS
Families involved in their church feel more of a connection than those whose participation is
limited to simply attending.
• Altar servers. Most parishes welcome children to become altar servers somewhere
around fourth grade.
• Ushers. Help others find a seat at the beginning of Mass, and keep that basket moving
during collection.
• Greeters. A perfect way for a parent and child to work together.
• Eucharistic Ministers. Adults and confirmed teens who give out communion discover a
deeper sense of the parish community.
• Hospitality committee. If you’re good with doughnuts, coffee, and smiling, this ministry
needs you.
