Gaitley’s DVD presentations and re-discover the gift of Christian fellowship. There is a fee of $10 which includes the book 33 Days to Morning Glory.

JETS (Java, Exercise, Talk & Service) Two Flights Remaining!

'CAUSE I'M LEA-VIN' ON A JET PLANE ...

...and with those melodic words another season of JETS flights is quickly coming to a close! We've been so very blessed to experience a great amount of amazing and interesting exotic destinations this past year and that definitely calls for a final celebratory flight to the Island of Picnic and Park Walk this Friday, June 16th, beginning at 10 am at Broadmoor Lake Park. Meet at the outdoor shelter, near the arena, by 9:45 am to begin our walk, food festivities and Canada 150 fun and interactive games! Wear comfy clothes and running shoes and a hat should we get sunny skies; red and white attire would be great. Also pack a blanket and water bottle and we ask you to bring one Canadian-inspired food item to share for lunch - salad, appetizer, dessert or main would be greatly appreciated. If you've never flown with us, then this would be the most perfect inaugural flight for you! No need to register - simply show up! In case of rain, we will move all activities into the big meeting room, lower level of the Church. Same time. For those wishing to carpool, please meet in the Par-ish parking lot by 9:30 am. Further info is available by calling Aida D. at 780-922-2156 or Nancy F. at 780-464-5356. Now ..

Summer Camps

Our Lady of Victory Camp

Our Lady of Victory Camp runs a Catholic based program while welcoming young people of all denominations. Youcamp week is for participants 9-14 years, based on the Youth Catechism. This exciting week of fun, faith and friends allows campers to attend a second week

(one age group week + Youcamp Week). Volunteers Needed! Each week we require the help of 7-9 Volunteer Cooks, 1-2 Volunteer Nurses and it is nice to have the help of 1-2 people to help our Maintenance Supervisor with projects around camp. For directions and registration information visit http://www.olvc.ab.ca or contact us at 403-986-6582 or [email protected].

Camp Encounter

Owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton and set on the eastern shores of beautiful Lac la Nonne, Camp Encounter is a camp for all seasons. Our 70 acre mainland property offers accommodation, dining, and programming facilities, historical trail systems

and multiple adventurous activity areas. Camp Encounter also boasts a 30 acre island which houses an extensive trail system and ten tipi sites for overnight use. Since 1980, Camp Encounter has offered outdoor, environmental and adventure experiences in a Catholic-Christian setting for children, youth and adults alike. For directions and registration information, or to view our awesome video, visit www.campencounter.com or contact us at [email protected] or call (403)985-6582.

Patchwork Network Quilters Group

We ended another successful year on July 1st. Our very active members produced 440 quilts since last September and 70 tops are waiting to be finished. Most of these quilts go to a lot of different charities and some go to auctions and raffles for some much needed cash for these groups. Our own CWL got one of those quilts and raised over $ 2.000.- for the Strathcona Food Bank with it.

We also give Canada-themed quilts to Quilts of Valor for war veterans, small quilts to Bags for Kids which go to children in Foster care, scraps of batting are used as stuffing for dog beds and go to veterinarians and the Edmonton Institution for Women has asked us again for a del-egation to teach the inmates how to quilt.

Unfortunately we cannot encourage you to join us since we still have 21 people on a waiting list. The membership is capped at 110.

June 11 - A Reflection on The Solemnity Of The Most Holy Trinity

Throughout the centuries the concept of the Trinity has been a challenge to understand. In fact, the church struggled with the idea of one God in three persons for some time in its history. We may not entirely grasp the theology, but we can understand the single, clear message revealed in the Hebrew Scriptures and the Gospels. We are deeply loved and encountered by a God who is with us and is shown to us in many ways and through many faces. As we live out this reality, we are called to share it with one another. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. John 3:17
