“Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the man who humbles himself will be exalted.” PARISH NEWSLETTER Sunday 23rd October, 2016. Mission Sunday: Theme: Every Christian is a Missionary We are invited this Sunday to reflect on the work of Missionaries worldwide, who serve in many countries to share the Message and Mission of the Gospel. They depend on our prayers and also on our financial support to assist them in building churches, parish houses, hospitals, clinics and schools in 1,100 different areas where they serve. These are buildings that we take for granted here. But to enable people to develop, form and train both their skills and their faith, any contribution that you generously give, will go a long way in providing a well, a shed for seeds, basic medical equipment and training courses for young people to participate in the life of their community. Also your Mission Gift may well be used to provide emergency aid in times of war and natural disaster, like the recent Hurricane in Haiti. Every parish is in the words of Pope Francis is an ‘OASIS OF MERCY’. We are called to be missionary, both at home here in our own parish and to the wider world. Both are linked. We are invited to reach out to people with the Gospel message of Christ from our own personal conviction that the MESSAGE and MISSION is God’s MERCY. The mercy of God hears the needs of millions for food and shelter and the anguished cries of the refugees on seas far away and in houses and rented accommodation within our own parish community. This Mission Sunday let us focus on the MESSAGE and MISSION of the gospel. Let us PRAY and SUPPORT our 1,300 Irish Missionaries and all Missionaries, who quietly witness to MERCY as the heartbeat of the Gospel. John Cullen

PARISH NEWSLETTER

Sunday 23rd October, 2016.

Mission Sunday: Theme: Every Christian is a Missionary We are invited this Sunday to reflect on the work of Missionaries worldwide,

who serve in many countries to share the Message and Mission of the Gospel.

They depend on our prayers and also on our financial support to assist them in

building churches, parish houses, hospitals, clinics and schools in 1,100

different areas where they serve. These are buildings that we take for granted

here. But to enable people to develop, form and train both their skills and their

faith, any contribution that you generously give, will go a long way in

providing a well, a shed for seeds, basic medical equipment and training

courses for young people to participate in the life of their community. Also

your Mission Gift may well be used to provide emergency aid in times of war

and natural disaster, like the recent Hurricane in Haiti. Every parish is in the

words of Pope Francis is an ‘OASIS OF MERCY’. We are called to be

missionary, both at home here in our own parish and to the wider world. Both

are linked. We are invited to reach out to people with the Gospel message of

Christ from our own personal conviction that the MESSAGE and MISSION

is God’s MERCY. The mercy of God hears the needs of millions for food and

shelter and the anguished cries of the refugees on seas far away and in houses

and rented accommodation within our own parish community. This Mission

Sunday let us focus on the MESSAGE and MISSION of the gospel. Let us

PRAY and SUPPORT our 1,300 Irish Missionaries and all Missionaries, who

quietly witness to MERCY as the heartbeat of the Gospel.
