INTRODUCTIONIn 1929 a small company by the name of Parle

products emerged in British dominated India.

A decade later it was upgraded to manufacture biscuits as well. Since then, the Parle name has grown in all directions, won international fame and has been sweetening people's lives all over

Parle name symbolizes quality, nutrition and great taste. With a reach spanning even the remotest villages of India , the company has definitely come a very long way since its inception.

COMPANY PROFILE The consumer is the focus of all activities at Parle . Its

Products has been India's largest manufacturer of biscuits and confectionery, for almost 80 years.

With a 40% share of the total biscuit market and a 15% share of the total confectionary market in India , Parle has grown to become a multi-million dollar company.

The largest biscits & confectionery plants are in Mumbai,Bangalore,

Haryana,Rajasthan.

Parle Products has 7 manufacturing units and 51 manufacturing units on contract. Parle has nearly 1,500 wholesalers, catering to 4,25,000 retail outlets directly or indirectly.

The targeted market of this factory is foreign market.The products produced in Pune factory are Parle-G, Nice biscuits, honey base and coconut base.

Parle – The world of Happiness.

Parle Centre of Excellence as an institution is dedicated to enrich the lives of people through conducting various cultural programs across all region to facilitate the all round development of the children. Every year, Parle organises Saraswati Vandana in the state of West Bengal during the festival of Saraswati Puja, inviting schools from all across the state to participate. The event is one of much fanfare and celebration, keeping alive the culture and traditions of ages. Our involvement in cultural activities has seen the inception of Golu Galata in Tamil Nadu, held during Navratri.

RAW MATERIALS

INGREDIENTS:

Wheat Flour

Sugar

Partially Hydrogenated Edible Vegetable Oils

Invert Syrup

TESTING

Samples of raw materials are sent to the

laboratory for testing as per the Parle norms.

Vanaspati ghee is checked as free fat acid.

MIXING

The capacity of mixer is 500kg in which Mixing of

Ingredients with Vanaspati ghee.

Vitamins, Baking soda and Milk powder is done.

Dry mixing is done for 7.5min, which is further mixed with

cream for 3.5 min.

The mixing done in the machine has a temperature of 32-33

degrees, which is converted into a dub (tandoor roti).

MOULDING The tandoor roti is further passed under

the molder in which tandoor roti’s are moulded into rectangular shaped by the dices and the name is engraved on the pieces of biscuits.

BAKING

After the moulding process the

biscuit pieces are forwarded

in the oven which is 240ft.

Long and is sub divided into

8 chambers, in which the

moisture is absorbed in the

following manner ;

1st Chamber 10% moisture is absorbed

2nd Chamber 25% moisture is absorbed

3rd Chamber 50% moisture is absorbed

4th Chamber 50% moisture is absorbed

5th Chamber 75% moisture is absorbed

6th chamber 100% moisture is absorbed

BAKING Each chamber has been fitted with two

burners and a chimney at the top.

The baking task is done for 3.5min with

the temperature between 80-320 degrees.

COOLING

The temperature of the baked

biscuits is between 140-150

degrees.

There are six conveyers belt in

which the temperature of

biscuits are brought down to 45

degrees.

PACKINGThere are 13 packing machines, which is operated

automatically.

Each packing machine packs 90 packets per minute,

which contains 16 biscuits in each packet.

STORING

After packaging the goods are taken to the

storage area where goods are ready to be

dispatched.

The total storage area is 300/1000sqfts.

FINDINGS & LEARNINGSPlace was hygenic.

Well-equipped with modern machines.

Socio-cultural environment is maintained along with Lord Shiva’s temple near the main factory gate.

Things were done in a systematised manner to avoid confusion & rush,example-parle g is made during morning hours and nice biscuits in the evening time.

Mass production takes place,they manufacture 7125 biscuits in a minute which makes it 427500 biscuits in an hour.
