L-42- Valuation Basis (Life Insurance)

Valuation as at September 30,2017

a.How the policy data needed for valuation is

accessed.The Policy data required for the purpose of valuation is obtained from

the policy administration system ( Life-Asia for individual business

and Group Asia for group business). The data is subject to various

checks before using it for liability calculations.

b.How the valuation bases are supplied to the

system

The valuation projections are primarily modelled (separately for each

product) in MG-ALFA – the actuarial software used for calculating the

mathematical reserves. The software allows the specification and

input of each of the valuation parameters for the modelled products.
