Sustaining inspiration The South African office holds quarterly

training sessions to inspire and encourage Members. After the most recent training, I was not sure who was more fired up, the Members or me. The last session was about cancer prevention. We heard a moving testimony about how a Member won the battle against very aggressive ovarian cancer, followed by a detailed talk on how nutrition can support the fight. The products that can be used were presented and each explained. Members took turns talking about their own experience with the products, and we all learned a tremendous amount about the wide-ranging and often surprising use of the products.

After a light lunch, the afternoon was dedicated to preparing for smaller home-based meetings, and training was provided on how to run those sessions. At the end of the day,

Members were excited about helping others and ready to arrange their own meetings.

Now this excitement means that many more meetings regarding disease prevention are being held all around the country for Members in every downline. The message is being spread far and wide! To help Members, a video of the testimony given is being sent to them so that they can be screened at their meetings. The attendees are making contact with their sponsors and arranging that those with knowledge step forward and be the speakers on nutrition and the products. The effect is that everyone becomes enthused about their own experience and wants to share their testimony.

Members who attend are offered support in running their subsequent meetings, which helps to provide a base of security and increase their confidence. Not only do they get inspired, but

they get practical support on how to run their next meeting, the tools to accomplish it, and the inspiration to sustain it!

In 1983 at the age of three, Martin had what his parents thought was a bad cold. But it lasted for four weeks. His mother Cathy Clark, who worked in health care, took him to a physician for an examination, which revealed an illness immensely worse than a stubborn cold. Martin had leukemia. For the next four years, he spent much of his young life in and out of hospitals, where he underwent bone marrow biopsies, radiation, and chemotherapy.

During hospitalizations that lasted anywhere from weeks to months at a time, Martin’s mother and father would rotate their visits to spend as much time with their little boy as was possible. As months turned into years, being in hospitals became such a normal part of Martin’s life that it was not until he was eight years old that he realized that not all kids have to do this. After four years of treatment, seven-year-old Martin was cured of leukemia.

Less than twelve months later, he was diagnosed with cancer of the central nervous

system, meaning the cancer had metastasized in other parts of his body

including his spine and his brain. This type of cancer is extremely difficult to treat because the cancer drugs are blocked by the blood-

brain barrier. The year was 1988, and Martin was given a 10 percent chance of survival.

Martin Benning welcomes a challenge. Back in 2005, he founded the Seven Summits Cancer Climb to scale the highest peaks on each of the seven continents while bringing attention to cancer support organizations, such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society. Both of these organizations supported Martin and his family during his cancer battle.

So far, Martin and his team have climbed five of the mountaintops. Two remain: one in Antarctica’s Sentinel Range and the second—

the highest—in Asia’s Himalayas. Martin is close to coming full circle in a life of

climbing and surviving, considering that his childhood was as great a

challenge as Mount Everest.

He had to endure even more radiation, spinal taps, and excruciating rounds of chemotherapy by injection. Martin remembers that the pain would make him curl up into a little ball, and his mother would have to hold him down as the needle pierced his spine. Frequently, the needles would break.

To make the treatments somewhat easier, a catheter—developed and administered by pediatric nephrologist Dr. Robert Hickman at Seattle Children’s Hospital—was inserted into his neck and out through his chest to deliver the cancer drugs more effectively and less painfully.

The last resort was to implant a dome-shaped Ommaya reservoir into his head to allow the blood-carried chemotherapy to reach the brain and spinal column. To this day, Martin still has this plastic device embedded in his skull.

For tunately, the chemotherapy—so dam aging to the body that it often kills the patient—was effective in killing his cancer cells. However, Martin remained cancer-free for less than a year. At the age of ten, he was re-diagnosed with testicular cancer.

More bouts of radiation and chemotherapy followed. Eight to twelve months is the usual protocol, but Martin’s lasted until just before he turned thirteen. “It was the last day of June in 1993 when I received my final chemo,” recalled Martin. “The doctor shook my hand and said he never wanted to see me again!” He had undergone ten years of radiation and chemotherapy and survived the challenges of three life-threatening cancers.

In 2004, Martin crossed paths with another cancer victor, AIM Royal Emerald Director Linda Cole, who chose AIM’s natural health products to fight breast cancer and won. Martin became an AIM-sponsored athlete and began taking AIM products, which he credits with maintaining his health, keeping cancer at bay, and giving him the fitness level required to climb the

highest peaks on seven continents. At thirty, Martin has been cancer-

free for nearly eighteen years. He has a check-up once a year, but his health concerns as an adult are far more typical, such as maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

Last year, Martin married Emily Garner, whom he met in college. After Emily accompanied him on his team’s fifth climb up Mt. Kosciuszko in Australia, seven years of friendship turned into romance in 2008.

Following in the footsteps of his mother, Martin works in the health care field and recently accepted a position as the director of operations in the primary care division of Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center—one of the hospitals he was treated in as a child.

Royal Emerald Director Loren Schiele had once dreamed of owning his own business, making his own hours, and enjoying the freedom of a life lived apart from the work-week grind. First presented to Loren in the 1980s, the network marketing opportunity be came a constant goal—a dream.

“Instead of pursuing that dream,” Loren said, “I put it on a shelf as we immersed ourselves in the Word of God; preached the Gospel for several years at juvenile halfway houses, detention cen-ters, and the Texas state school for juveniles; got married; and established our family.”

The dream came back a few years later in the form of the AIM Opportunity.

“In 1995, I learned of AIM, and we became Members to get product to help Kathleen’s father with health challenges. We never intended to do the business, but shortly after we signed up, the dream came back. So I committed to work hard at our business for two years to see what would happen. The rest is history.”

Sixteen years later, Loren and Kathleen are being in ducted into AIM’s Million Dollar Club, and they continue to set their sights on bigger and better things to come.

“We want to continue to help people achieve good health,” Loren said. “We want to become Chairman’s Club Members and experience more

exponential growth in our AIM business.”Before the business began, Loren spent

eighteen years as an applications engineer at Texas Instruments after graduating with an electrical engineering degree from Montana State. He and Kathleen met at a Christian church in Dallas, Texas, and were married in 1984. Kathleen spent time as an executive secretary and home cleaning business owner before slowing down to devote her time to homeschooling and raising the four Schiele boys—Michael (age 24), Daniel (21), Steven (19), and Jason (17).

“Kathleen should be given a doctorate as a Mom,” Loren said, “and as a homeschool teacher for twenty-plus years, for multiplying our income through wise shopping, and being an awesome wife!”

Loren retired from Texas Instruments in 1999 to pursue the income freedom of an AIM business full-time. Kathleen has since obtained her Texas real estate license. The couple makes their home in Dallas.

The Schieles’ rise to Million Dollar Club has been a steady, fulfilling journey. They run one of AIM’s most successful Internet businesses, but it is the personal connections—and the faith sharing—that have meant the most to the family over the years.

“We build by faith and prayer,” Loren said, “believing God to help us accomplish the goals we set—goals for the number of Members in our organization, for Members who will build their AIM busi-nesses, and for connections with folks who would benefit from using the AIM products. We pray that our customers and Members will always have the income needed to be able to purchase the beneficial AIM products.

“What really makes it all worthwhile is the occasional product user who takes the time to call and express their heartfelt thanks because they or a loved one are still alive today, or because their dog is healthy again, or to simply say thanks for giving them hope.”

Connections like these have made the AIM experience completely worth while for the Schieles, along with the many friends and memories made along the way. One of the highlights of their AIM journey has been the annual AIM convention, an event around which the Schieles plan their family vacations each year. Convention gives them a chance for fun, relaxation, and reuniting with those in their upline and downline—people whom the Schieles recognize as integral to their Million Dollar Club achievement.

“We’d like to thank all those in our AIM organization,” Loren said. “To those who are business builders for your diligence in building your own AIM businesses and to all those who simply use the products—for your commitment

to good health. Through everyone’s efforts, the message of good health through nutrition is changing lives!

“When we lived up north, we’d have said, ‘you guys are awesome!’ In Texan, that translates to ‘y’all are awesome!’”

Along with the income opportunity, the health benefit of 16 years with AIM has been noticeable. Loren and his family are proud to report no health issues. Their regimen

includes AIM favorites the AIM Garden Trio® and AIM Herbal Fiberblend® as well as a smart diet and active lifestyle.

“Garden Trio and Herbal Fiberblend are both foundations for awesome health,” Loren said. “The AIM products truly have been a blessing to millions of people world wide. Don’t stop telling others!”

Throughout their continuing journey and beyond, the Schieles keep perspective, remem-bering what it took to achieve their success with AIM.

“The old cliché applies,” Loren said. “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Or as Proverbs 10:4 says, ‘The hand of the diligent tends to plenty.’”

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is often referred to as the “energy currency of the

body” for its role in cellular function. As the body’s primary source of energy, ATP pays the bills for our physical endeavors, life’s day-to-day demands, and even the energy costs of simple aging.

As we get older, our bodies become less and less capable of replenishing our rapidly waning energy supply. In fact, studies have shown that between the ages of twenty and seventy, ATP levels are reduced by 50 percent. Aren’t those numbers exhausting?

Fortunately, AIM Peak Endurance® pro-vides an answer. With properly balanced electrolytes and added B vitamins, Peak Endurance is a comprehensive energy boost-er. PEAK ATP® (found in Peak Endurance) is the only oral source clinically proven to elevate ATP levels within the body.

you cannot get this type of added energy anywhere else. Still, people try.

Store-bought energy drinks may claim the same energy-building benefits, but there’s a very unhealthy catch: They do so with negative factors, such as caffeine, sugar, and high calories. Did you know that caffeine, ginseng, and ephedra can increase your heart rate? Did you know that sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade have up to 30 times the sugar found in Peak Endurance?

A safer, smarter alternative is Peak Endurance. AIM’s energy drink contains all six major electrolytes—sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, phosphorous, and mag-nesium. Peak contains B vitamins along with vitamin C. Oh, and don’t forget the ATP.

The next time you need a pick-me-up, reach for Peak Endurance.

Peak Endurance powers AIM’s top athletesAlong with providing added energy for everyone,

Peak Endurance packs a punch for world-class athletes as well.

AIM-sponsored speedskater and Olympic medal-ist J.R. Celski and AIM-sponsored mountain climber Martin Benning count Peak Endurance among their must-have prod-ucts. J.R. mixes his Peak Endurance with CalciAIM — a drink dubbed “J.R. Juice” by his family. The mix-ture combines the grape flavor of Peak Endurance with the citrus flavor of CalciAIM for a tasty treat packed with vitamins and minerals. Martin credits Peak Endurance for giving him the energy to climb the highest peaks on five different continents.

TestimonyOur son Andrew is fourteen years old and is a three-sport athlete in cross country, swim ming, and track. We have noticed a difference in his energy level the days that he takes Peak Endurance—he typically swims one-to-two seconds faster. Andrew also takes AIM

BarleyLife® and AIM Herbal Fiber-blend®. He is quite healthy, and The AIM Com panies™ have been a pos-itive part of his life.

What does it take to be a good mother? If you were to use one word, the answer might be “selfless”—without a single regret for being so. A good mother puts her children first, above her own needs, wants, and dreams throughout the time her children remain in her care. It’s a noble quality for motherhood which is why Mother’s Day is celebrated around the world.

AIM would like to honor moms everywhere and offer them nutritional support for what may be the hardest—and usually the lowest-paying—job in the universe.

CalciAIM™

One of the many nutritional concerns a mother has for her children is to ensure that they are getting enough dietary calcium for growing strong bones. yet how often does a selfless mom give her own—sometimes aching, undeniably aging—bones the same consideration? This is why AIM recommends that moms supplement with CalciAIM.

Calcium is a mineral that is a daily necessity for not only healthy bones, but for proper muscle function, central nervous system function, and hormone secretion. But supplementing with calcium alone is not enough, so the CalciAIM formula includes ingredients—such as magnesium, vitamin D, and zinc—that are essential for the uptake and utilization of this vital mineral. Equally important, CalciAIM powder mixed with water provides a completely dissolved solution for a 98 percent absorbable, ionic calcium supple-ment (unlike the 20–30 percent your body can absorb from calcium tablets or capsules). And it tastes good!

AIMega®

Moms know that essential fatty acids (EFAs) are a daily requirement for not only their

children, but all members of the family no matter what their ages. Omega-3 and -6 cannot be produced by our bodies, so EFAs must be a part of our diets. AIMega provides EFAs from organic seed oils—flax, sesame, and sunflower—to ensure that everyone, including mom, is getting enough of these vital nutrients.

Omega-3 and -6 are required for the growth, maintenance, and function of every cell in our bodies, so they are essential for very important reasons. Along with ensuring healthy cells, EFAs provide a long list of benefits, including improved digestion, balanced hormones, smooth skin, strengthened bones, and a strong heart (another requirement for surviving motherhood).

AIM BarleyLife®

“Eat your vegetables!” is a motherly command that echoes through time for a very solid reason. Vegetables are an incredibly healthy dietary factor, and BarleyLife helps to supplement

a mother’s green intake and provide additional energy

for the demands of motherhood. And it is

“I began taking AIM products when I was fourteen, and I believe they have had a big impact in keeping me healthy over the years. As a mother of two girls, Grace and MaLena, I’m kept extremely busy, so I need to have lots of energy and remain healthy. AIM products are my answer.

When I think about my two pregnancies, I can attest to the differences in each experience in regard to the amounts of AIM products I was taking at the time. I spent twenty-three hours in labor with Grace, so I had to take a mild painkiller. With MaLena, I increased my uptake of AIM products, such as CalciAIM, AIMega, and BarleyLife, so I was in labor for only five hours and without any pain relievers. Even after MaLena’s birth, I continued this extra AIM regime for some time to help with my recovery. I really believe in taking AIMega throughout the pregnancy because essential fatty acids are so important for the brain development of the baby.

By the way, when MaLena had a stomach problem, I dipped my finger in water and then into a mixture of the contents of a FloraFood capsule and a little bit of BarleyLife, so MaLena could suck it off my finger. Within ten to fifteen minutes, she was comfortably asleep. As for Grace, I load her up on AIM products, and she has never really been sick.

I wish that more mothers knew about AIM because it would make them—and their children—healthier. Karen Miller, Star Sapphire Director and MomDundee, Ohio

Don’t leave your money on the tableAIM offers many options for you to place your

orders during the business month. Whichever method best suits you—mail, fax, phone or on-line—be sure to have these orders placed by the month-end cutoff times listed. Time flies when you are networking, so don’t let the month get away from you without getting your order placed on time. The AMR program is a great way to ensure you never miss out qualifying for your commissions and provides better volume discounts at lower dollar values than all other available ordering options.

The business month begins at 12:00 a.m. MT on the first day of the month and ends at 11:59 p.m. MT the last day of the month. Orders placed after the business month-end cannot be applied to the previous business month’s volume for any reason.
