Premio del Consejo Doble Estrella
Este domingo, nuestros Caballeros reciben un premio significa�vo. Bajo
el liderazgo del Gran Caballero Oscar Rodriguez y el Diputado Gran
Caballero Michael Flournoy, nuestro Consejo de Caballeros de Colon de
la parroquia 9910 logró el estatus de Doble Estrella del Consejo por el
año fraternal 2016-2017. Kim Washburn, Tesorera Estatal del Consejo
del Estado de Washington de los Caballeros de Colón, estará presente
en las Misas de 9:30 y 11:15 a.m. para presentar este pres�gioso pre-
mio.
Ayunar y orar por nuestros hijos
Gracias a todos los que se unieron al ayuno de tres días para nuestros
hijos, una excelente manera de comenzar el Año Nuevo 2018. La Biblia
tes�fica el gran poder de la oración unida al ayuno. Los estudios de-
muestran que nuestros hijos enfrentan niveles más altos de depresión,
desconexión y pérdida de fe. Por favor intente separar un día a la sema-
na para hacer un Ayuno de Daniel para nuestros hijos.
Deseo de familia
Como mencioné en la homilía del domingo pasado, los estudios tam-
bién muestran que nuestros hijos sueñan con la familia, incluso con una
familia bastante tradicional. Por ejemplo, los inves�gadores pregunta-
ron a adultos jóvenes de entre 18 y 24 años si están de acuerdo con
esta afirmación: "Lo mejor es que el hombre trabaje fuera del hogar y
la mujer cuide del hogar y la familia". 73% dijo que sí. Supongo que
estaban pensando especialmente cuando los niños están pequeños.
Otro resultado indicó el deseo que muchos �enen para la familia tradi-
cional. Le preguntaron a los adultos jóvenes si "el esposo debe tomar
todas las decisiones importantes en la familia". Un sorprendente 39%
estuvo de acuerdo. Eso es un aumento del diez por ciento en compara-
ción con hace 15 años. Como dije en la homilía, supongo que dan por
hecho que la consulta tendrá lugar antes de que se tomen las decisio-

Enfócate en Jesús
Mientras celebramos la Fiesta de los Reyes Magos queremos ser como
ellos, mantener nuestros ojos en Jesús. Inves�gando la configuración
de estrellas, planetas y cometas, se dirigieron a Belén, donde "vieron al
niño con María, su madre". Se postraron y le hicieron homenaje.
