CALL TO WORSHIP
HYMN OF PRAISE - . Christian people, sing together
1. Christian people, sing together, all united in one voice.
Though we come from many cultures, yet in Christ we all rejoice.
In our daily lives we’re scattered, serving God in various ways.
Then in worship we’re united giving Him our thanks and praise.
2. God created countless faces, yet in Christ we all are one.
Though we look from any angles, all our views reflect the Son.
So we bring each gift and talent, offering what we have to share,
and God blends us all together in one body of His care.
3. Teach us, Lord, to trust each other, though our ways are not the same,
As you call us to your purpose, bless our working in Your name.
In the world of daily living each uniquely serves Your will.
Show how every person matters as our calling we fulfill.
[Marjorie Dobson – 1977 – Tune: 87 87 D]
PRAYER OF ADORATION & THANKSGIVING RESPONSIVE READING Leader: Sing each other’s songs. The psalmist called them new songs.
People: The journey will be long; we will need many songs.
Leader : Lift each other’s loads. Jesus called them daily crosses.
People: Witness His journey up Golgotha; we will need others to help us.
Leader: Embrace each other’s weaknesses.
The Saviour will count them as strength.
People: The journey will reveal the truth.
We will converse in confession and forgiveness.
Leader: Share each other’s bread. The hungry will call it a miracle.
People: We will journey within each day and consider each meal sacred.:
Leader: Community will see us through.
ALL: In community we see Christ, our hope of salvation. Amen.
SONG OF WORSHIP 1. We are one in the spirit; we are one on the Lord
We are one in the spirit, we are one in the Lord,
And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.
REF: And they’ll know we are Christians
By our love, by our love,
Yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love.
2. We will walk with each other; we will walk hand in hand;
We will walk with each other; we will walk hand in hand,
And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land;
3. We will work with each other; we will work side by side;
We will work with each other; we will work side by side;
And we’ll guard each man’s dignity, and save each man’s pride.
4. All praise to the Father, from whom all things come,
And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son,
And all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one.
.
ACT OF BAPTISM Song during Baptism I have decided to follow Jesus…….
No turning back, no turning back. Though none go with me, I still will follow…. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus…. The world behind me, the cross before me….
[Brief Period of Silence]
[Sung Prayerfully]
Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer, that calls me to a world of care And bids me at my Father’s throne make all my wants and wishes known! In seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief And oft escaped the tempter’s snare by thy return, sweet hour of prayer.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION & INTERCESSION [Response]
Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer, thy wings shall my petition bear To Him, whose truth and faithfulness engage the waiting soul to bless; And since He bids me seek His face, believe His word and trust His grace, I’ll cast on Him my ev’ry care, and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer

Dear God, as countless teachers brace themselves for the current school year, grant them an abundance of Your wisdom.
Prepare their hearts to welcome and love all students, and may we make sure to show them love and respect in return.
Give them grace as they help students who aren’t thriving, courage to say what needs to be said, tools and knowledge on
how and when to speak love, and strength when they feel weak. When they feel unseen, remind them that no moment goes
unnoticed. They are shaping the future in one million small - yet incredibly important - ways every day. We are
overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of learning they share with all students.
Bless them, Lord, and may they see even just a glimpse of how their faithfulness will forever impact generations to come.
Amen
