QUESTIONS ABOUTMASS AT HOME

Is this a real Mass?Yes, Even though we arenot able to celebrate asone community together,we are celebrating as onecommunity apart; united in our love of God throughJesus and united by the power of the Holy Spirit. Whenyou open yourself to receiving the Holy Spirit, listen tothe holy scriptures, reflect on the words offered in thehomily and pray the Act of Communion with areceptive heart, this is a real and valid Liturgy.

Do you say the responses out loud? Please do. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but wepromise you will get used to it.

Do you stand, sit and kneel?Whatever makes you most comfortable. If you arephysically able, please participate as you wouldnormally, as if you were in church.

What about the Sign of Peace? If you are present with family, acknowledge thosearound you with eye contact, a nod, a wave andcertainly a smile. If you are alone, you may considerclosing your eyes and picturing your loved ones andpraying for them.

What about my Offertory Gift? There are different options for you. Mail, online or dropoff in the parish office mail slot. Our parish still servesthose in need and relies on the support of the entirecommunity to continue our mission.

What about Communion? In time of crisis, when it is not possible to receive theBody of Christ, it is acceptable to make an Act ofSpiritual Communion. Spiritual Communion is a deeprouted desire to receive Jesus and to remain close toHim even though we are unable to be physically presentwith the community.

Is there a way to prepare myself for Mass at Home?Short answer is yes. Take a deep breathe in. Think aboutyour morning, your week, your month. As you exhale, rid yourself of the worry, stress and anxiety that comeswith it.

Breathe in again. Be aware of your body andmind calming. Exhale any tension and pressure that therest of the day and your week ahead may hold.Be in this moment; safe and in tune to God’s love, peace and plan for you. Offer an intention. Prepare a listof things for which you are gratefulthis past week. Acknowledge andthank God for each of them. Ourunderstanding of the EucharisticCelebration does not cease whenthe Mass has ended. Think aboutwhat you can do to get involvewhen the crisis is over.

FLEA MARKET ITEMSAnticipating the reopening of the Church, we areplanning to schedule an event in the Fall and will beasking for Flea Market items. If you are in the processof cleaning out closets during the stay at home phase ofCovid19, please think about saving some items for St.Casimir Chuch. When we hear more about newguidelines and the start of Stage 1, we will let you knowwhen we can start accepting items and possible dates. For now, just save your items.
