THE SIGNAL November 11, 2016 WHAT’S ON MY MIND: REACHING THE SUMMIT What is challenging to you? 4,042 persons have successfully climbed Mount Everest. These hearty souls overcame cold, wind, pain, fatigue and all other obstacles to stand on the summit in what for many is a once-in-a lifetime experience. Another 2,898 climbers have conquered Everest multiple times. Those climbers know how to not stop until the goal is reached and the summit is conquered – and then do it again. In October we took two Sundays to focus on the challenge of money and giving our money for God’s purposes through the church. We named our focus Exceed – Reach Beyond. We challenged each of us to make a financial commitment to the ministry of FUMC and document that commitment through a 2017 Pledge Card. Where are you in “summiting the peak” of making and communicating your giving commitment? Have you turned in your pledge card? You can find cards in the pew pockets, at the welcome center, or you can simply call our Financial secretary - Cesilia Medrano to give her your pledge over the phone. Please join the people who love FUMC and let us know your commitment to our common ministry. Together we can make it to the top. Climbing to the summit for Jesus.

THE SIGNAL November 11, 2016 WHAT’S ON MY MIND: REACHING THE SUMMIT

What is challenging to you? 4,042 persons have successfully climbed Mount Everest. These hearty souls overcame cold, wind, pain, fatigue and all other obstacles to stand on the summit in what for many is a once-in-a lifetime experience. Another 2,898 climbers have conquered Everest multiple times. Those climbers know how to not stop until the

goal is reached and the summit is conquered – and then do it again. CHILDREN’S AWANA PROGRAM STILL ACCEPTING PARTICIPANTS!

Our Awana Program is growing, and is still looking for more volunteers! Kids in Awana (4yrs. old by Sept. 1, 2016 through 3rd grade) discover God's love and their identity in Christ and become disciple-making disciples who reach out to their friends. Through scripture memorization and stories that incorporate Biblical truths into daily life, we are working together to build a solid foundation that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to hide the word of God in our kids' hearts. Contact Stacey Conner (806-206-1606) if you are interested.
