PATIENT ROOM LANDSTUHL CHILDRENS HEALTH CENTER ' Handwashing is the easiest way to prevent the spread of infections, but because not all healthcare providers have time to do so an alcohol-based sanitizer dispenser is conveniently located by the entrance. Handwashing station is located in the natural flow of entering and exiting the room for increased use. Surface space close to the bed allows for setting down supplies, charts, or equipment and easily accessible to the employee. Patients who have involved family usually have a faster healing time, so ample family space is necessary so the sofa converts to a double bed. Access to daylight reduces pain, depression, and length of stay while improving patient and staff satisfaction. Located close to the bathroom for easy access, the built in desk has internet access allowing patients or family members to complete work even when they are away from work or school. Built in bench provides extra seating for visitors. A fun color scheme will serve as a positive distraction for children to make the rooms feel less like a hospital, while the layout will provide ample space for everyone. The flooring variations will act as zone separation while the entry floor shape will aid in helping staff remember to wash their hands every time they enter or exit the rooms.
