Kindergarten read

the book, ‘Here We

Are’ by Oliver Jeffers.

Which sparked a

huge interest in

ocean animals. So,

Mrs Dow went to

Kmart to buy some

cool Ocean books and

some ocean animals.

For lesson breaks we have been watching cool videos. Here

is some writing about Narwhals.

Kindergarten have also been working hard with our school laptops.

Logging into the network and using educational games is a pretty

tricky process. Each time is getting smoother and quicker.

What a busy start for 1/2 in Term 3! In Literacy we have

been learning the sounds of p, r, ar, a and s. We’ve

enjoyed reading the Dr Suess books McElligot’s Pool, Oh,

the Places You'll Go! and On Beyond Zebra. We’ve written

about getting a lion’s share in cake which is a book about

fractions and sharing.

In Mathematics, we have been learning about fractions.

We’ve spent time on the laptops using Study Ladder to

complete activities on fractions and subtraction. Study

Ladder is available for use at home as well.

In other learning areas, we started our new Creative Arts

unit of drama and read the play Tiddalick the Frog, The

Hare and the Tortoise is next. Rugby skills has

commenced on Wednesday mornings. Finally, thank you

to all the amazing speeches that were presented in the

first week back.

Regards, Mr Hudson. Regards, Mrs Dow
