Hagen ScholarshipThis scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, designed to provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt free. The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high achieving, self-motivated student who will require financial assistance to attend college. Each Hagen Scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters and includes a $15,000 Schwab Investment Account.To be considered for the Hagen Scholarship, students must come to the Counseling Complex for more information about the scholarship and application process. This must be done in a timely manner for the student to get the application completed before the deadline of November 15, 2018 at 5:00 PM CST.

Mensa Education and Research FoundationLocal Scholarship Program

Mensa Foundation scholarships are awarded solely on the merits of the essay written by the applicant. The awards are not affected by age, race, gender or financial need. Open to applicants who will be enrolled next academic year in a degree program in an accredited U.S. college or university.Awards will be made on the basis of an essay of no more than 550 words. The essay is to describe the applicant’s career, vocational, or academic goal. We encourage students to carefully read the rules and suggestions as provided on the application site. New Scholarship Opportunity for West Virginia High School Students Planning on Attending WVU

West Virginia University (WVU) and the WVU Center for Excellence in STEM Education announce a new scholarship opportunity for West Virginia high school students planning on attending WVU. The (Computational Physics) CPHYS scholarship can provide support up to $10,000 per year for students attending WVU and majoring in physics. A physics degree provides excellent training in computation skills while allowing the student to use those skills to better understand the universe. WVU physicists use computation to understand distant stars (pulsars), to model gravitational waves, to understand plasmas, and to design new electronic devices. About one-third of all physics graduates work in the computer industry. Both high school students and students at WVU can apply for the scholarship. It can be renewed for four years. Maier STEM Educator Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who plan on attending Marshall University for an Education degree and certification in the STEM fields.Four students will be chosen for the 2019-2020 academic year, and renewed for the following 3 years. The annual scholarship will $15,000 for tuition, housing and other costs; a stipend of up to $1,500 for a laptop; and funding for a study abroad or student exchange experience. A total scholarship package of $71,000 maximum over a four-year period will be awarded.Selection Criteria:

Davis Health System Foundation Scholarship

Charles H Feoppel Student Loan Trust Fund is available to students in the Harrison, Barbour, Doddridge, Lewis, Marion, Taylor, Upshur, and Wetzel counties.

This fund is a low-interest Student Loan Fund that benefits students who may be considering an alternative to federal loans.

Typically the interest rate is 40-50% lower than the Federal Stafford Undergraduate Rate.

We found that students benefit from this program if they have received grants and scholarships but still have uncovered university and tuition costs.

Benefits include: Low interest rate No fees or application costs No interest charged while students are enrolled (plus 3 additional years interest free when students begin repayment)
