The small candle on the altar is a Candle for Peace. A practice begun in Russia, peace candles are being passed from church to church around the world. (Ours is from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in The Dalles, Oregon.) The candles and the story of the peace candle are available at the back of the church.
We hope guests and visitors will take a peace candle to their home church.

Welcome to Trinity We invite you to “stand and be counted” during our worship this morning. And, then, please come to the Celebration Sunday Brunch in St. Helens Hall following both services.
All Saints’ Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM The Feast of All Saints, November 1, is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, so much so that our observance of the holy day carries over to our celebrations the following Sunday. We give thanks for the Communion of Saints – for the fellowship we share with those who have gone before us, and for the example our forebears have set for all of us.
A special insert is included in this morning’s bulletin, naming some of the saints of God who have gone before, “those we love, but see no longer.” We sometimes refer to them as members of the “Church Triumphant.” During each of our morning services today, we’ll take some time to name these persons.
And also celebrate being woven together with them and one another, taking our place as members of the “Church Militant” through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. This morning we will baptize Hunter Slawosky at our 10:15 service.
Consecration Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM We welcome Bishop John Thornton as our guest preacher at both of our services this morning. Bishop Thornton served as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Idaho, from 1990 to 1998. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Jan, founded the Lillian Vallely School at the request of a group of Shoshone-Bannock elders of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Eastern Idaho. The elders wanted a school where academic excellence would be expected of the students, and a school where the children would be respected and their culture honored. Bishop Thornton will lead us in a time of commitment at the morning services, encouraging our financial giving and support for the life of our parish family. We ask members to place your “estimate of giving” cards in the basket as you come forward for Communion.

Adult Forum — TODAY @ 9:15 AM Our weekly adult forum meets in Brooks Hall between our morning services, offering a time of fellowship, as well as a chance to exchange information or engage in deeper reflection.
This morning, Father Jed will sit down for a more casual conversation with those coming before the later service. We’ll talk about saints, the heroes of the faith who have lived in the generations before us, together with those who have led exemplary lives in our own lifetimes. We’ll also look at how we, in the Episcopal Church, define the term saint.
Next week, Larry Kogovsek will be here to talk about an initiative he hopes may be helpful as we, in Bend, address the needs of those who don’t have a home in the coming winter months.
Election Day — Tuesday Not that anyone is likely to forget, but Election Day is this coming Tuesday, November 8th. Regardless of who you vote for or who gets elected, we are reminded to respect one another and to pray for the common good. Among the many prayers suggested in our Prayer Book:
Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States and our local communities in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Party: Countdown to Boutique and Bake Sale — Wednesday @ 2 PM This Wednesday, there will be a work party to finish projects (and to celebrate the end of the election!!!). We will have cookies and treats and smiles of relief. Join us to help bake dog treats, wrap items, help with labeling, tie ribbons and bows, or just stop by to say "howdy." Bring your own projects, even if not related to the boutique, to enjoy the afternoon in fellowship, from 2-5 PM in Brooks Hall.
One fun project will be to help decorate ten (10) large glass vases with wire-edged ribbons and Christmas trinkets, then fill them with a layer of pebbles and narcissus bulbs. Helen Brisson will be available to show us the art of making the bows. These sold very well at the last two bazaars, so come to help.
Judy Montgomery will be happy to receive your knitted offerings next Sunday, November 13th, at the 8:00 service or during the between-services get-together. Or (last chance!) you may also bring them to St Helens Hall between 9 AM and 12 PM on November 17th. Contact Judy at (541) 330-1454 if you need other arrangements. Please label each garment with your name, email, appropriate size (sweaters, hats etc.), and kind of yarn and washing instructions. Thank you!
Please plan on bringing baked goods, candies, etc. to St. Helens Hall on Thursday and Friday, November 17th and 18th between 12:00 noon and 5:00. Trinity Pilgrims Hike — Thursday The next Trinity Pilgrims a hike is on for Thursday, November 10th. We will celebrate the end of the election by hiking together in our blessed central Oregon. Circle of Love (COL) Women’s Gathering — Thursday @ noon Note the time! During the winter months (November – March) COL will meet at noon rather than in the evening. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service — Thursday, November 17th Our annual community Thanksgiving celebration, presented by the Interfaith Network of Central Oregon (INCO), will invite all of us, various faith traditions in our community, to reflect on what each can do to encourage peace. This year’s celebration will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2555 NW Shevlin Park Road in Bend, 7-8PM. You are invited to bring a pie to share at the Fourth Annual Pei Fest after the service. Beverages will be provided.
Prayers and support for the people of Standing Rock Several members of Trinity, along with other people of faith from our local community, gathered in solidarity with members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, in North Dakota. We voiced our concerns for the treatment of God’s creation and God’s children there. Photos are posted.

The nursery is open and available for parents who would appreciate this offering. It is located in the west wing of this building, up the stairs outside the west sanctuary door. Older children are invited to Children’s Chapel (September to mid-June) during the first part of the service, returning for the Eucharist.

The small candle on the altar is a Candle for Peace. A practice begun in Russia, peace candles are being passed from church to church around the world. (Ours is from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in The Dalles, Oregon.) The candles and the story of the peace candle are available at the back of the church.

Welcome to Trinity We invite you to “stand and be counted” during our worship this morning. And, then, please come to the Celebration Sunday Brunch in St. Helens Hall following both services.
All Saints’ Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM The Feast of All Saints, November 1, is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, so much so that our observance of the holy day carries over to our celebrations the following Sunday. We give thanks for the Communion of Saints – for the fellowship we share with those who have gone before us, and for the example our forebears have set for all of us.
A special insert is included in this morning’s bulletin, naming some of the saints of God who have gone before, “those we love, but see no longer.” We sometimes refer to them as members of the “Church Triumphant.” During each of our morning services today, we’ll take some time to name these persons.
And also celebrate being woven together with them and one another, taking our place as members of the “Church Militant” through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. This morning we will baptize Hunter Slawosky at our 10:15 service.
Consecration Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM We welcome Bishop John Thornton as our guest preacher at both of our services this morning. Bishop Thornton served as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Idaho, from 1990 to 1998. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Jan, founded the Lillian Vallely School at the request of a group of Shoshone-Bannock elders of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Eastern Idaho. The elders wanted a school where academic excellence would be expected of the students, and a school where the children would be respected and their culture honored. Adult Forum — TODAY @ 9:15 AM Our weekly adult forum meets in Brooks Hall between our morning services, offering a time of fellowship, as well as a chance to exchange information or engage in deeper reflection.
This morning, Father Jed will sit down for a more casual conversation with those coming before the later service. We’ll talk about saints, the heroes of the faith who have lived in the generations before us, together with those who have led exemplary lives in our own lifetimes. We’ll also look at how we, in the Episcopal Church, define the term saint.
Next week, Larry Kogovsek will be here to talk about an initiative he hopes may be helpful as we, in Bend, address the needs of those who don’t have a home in the coming winter months.
Election Day — Tuesday Not that anyone is likely to forget, but Election Day is this coming Tuesday, November 8th. Regardless of who you vote for or who gets elected, we are reminded to respect one another and to pray for the common good. Among the many prayers suggested in our Prayer Book:

Party: Countdown to Boutique and Bake Sale — Wednesday @ 2 PM This Wednesday, there will be a work party to finish projects (and to celebrate the end of the election!!!). We will have cookies and treats and smiles of relief. Join us to help bake dog treats, wrap items, help with labeling, tie ribbons and bows, or just stop by to say "howdy." Bring your own projects, even if not related to the boutique, to enjoy the afternoon in fellowship, from 2-5 PM in Brooks Hall.
One fun project will be to help decorate ten (10) large glass vases with wire-edged ribbons and Christmas trinkets, then fill them with a layer of pebbles and narcissus bulbs. Helen Brisson will be available to show us the art of making the bows. These sold very well at the last two bazaars, so come to help.
Judy Montgomery will be happy to receive your knitted offerings next Sunday, November 13th, at the 8:00 service or during the between-services get-together. A portion of the proceeds benefit the children of Condega (Nicaragua) via our Condega Project outreach.
Community Shower Truck — NEXT Sunday Ken Cox and Bob Knudtson will be making a brief introduction of the Fall/Winter campaign for: clothing (socks, underwear, etc.); volunteers (including women one day a week for three hours); and financial support.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service — Thursday, November 17th Our annual community Thanksgiving celebration, presented by the Interfaith Network of Central Oregon (INCO), will invite all of us, various faith traditions in our community, to reflect on what each can do to encourage peace. This year’s celebration will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2555 NW Shevlin Park Road in Bend, 7-8PM. You are invited to bring a pie to share at the Fourth Annual Pei Fest after the service. Beverages will be provided.
Prayers and support for the people of Standing Rock Several members of Trinity, along with other people of faith from our local community, gathered in solidarity with members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, in North Dakota. We voiced our concerns for the treatment of God’s creation and God’s children there. Photos are posted.

The Sunday Papers coloring pages and activity bags are available at the back of the sanctuary so children can sit with their parents during the church service. The nursery is open and available for parents who would appreciate this offering. It is located in the west wing of this building, up the stairs outside the west sanctuary door. Older children are invited to Children’s Chapel (September to mid-June) during the first part of the service, returning for the Eucharist.
Parents, grandparents, and guardians are welcome to join their children in the Nursery or
Children's Chapel to observe and enjoy these activities.

The small candle on the altar is a Candle for Peace. A practice begun in Russia, peace candles are being passed from church to church around the world. (Ours is from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in The Dalles, Oregon.) The candles and the story of the peace candle are available at the back of the church.

All Saints’ Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM The Feast of All Saints, November 1, is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, so much so that our observance of the holy day carries over to our celebrations the following Sunday. A special insert is included in this morning’s bulletin, naming some of the saints of God who have gone before, “those we love, but see no longer.” We sometimes refer to them as members of the “Church Triumphant.” During each of our morning services today, we’ll take some time to name these persons.
And also celebrate being woven together with them and one another, taking our place as members of the “Church Militant” through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. This morning we will baptize Hunter Slawosky at our 10:15 service.
Consecration Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM We welcome Bishop John Thornton as our guest preacher at both of our services this morning. Bishop Thornton served as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Idaho, from 1990 to 1998. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Jan, founded the Lillian Vallely School at the request of a group of Shoshone-Bannock elders of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Eastern Idaho. The elders wanted a school where academic excellence would be expected of the students, and a school where the children would be respected and their culture honored. Bishop Thornton will lead us in a time of commitment at the morning services, encouraging our financial giving and support for the life of our parish family. We ask members to place your “estimate of giving” cards in the basket as you come forward for Communion.

Adult Forum — TODAY @ 9:15 AM Our weekly adult forum meets in Brooks Hall between our morning services, offering a time of fellowship, as well as a chance to exchange information or engage in deeper reflection.
This morning, Father Jed will sit down for a more casual conversation with those coming before the later service. We’ll talk about saints, the heroes of the faith who have lived in the generations before us, together with those who have led exemplary lives in our own lifetimes. We’ll also look at how we, in the Episcopal Church, define the term saint.
Next week, Larry Kogovsek will be here to talk about an initiative he hopes may be helpful as we, in Bend, address the needs of those who don’t have a home in the coming winter months.
Election Day — Tuesday Not that anyone is likely to forget, but Election Day is this coming Tuesday, November 8th. Regardless of who you vote for or who gets elected, we are reminded to respect one another and to pray for the common good. Among the many prayers suggested in our Prayer Book:
Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States and our local communities in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Party: Countdown to Boutique and Bake Sale — Wednesday @ 2 PM This Wednesday, there will be a work party to finish projects (and to celebrate the end of the election!!!). We will have cookies and treats and smiles of relief. Join us to help bake dog treats, wrap items, help with labeling, tie ribbons and bows, or just stop by to say "howdy." Bring your own projects, even if not related to the boutique, to enjoy the afternoon in fellowship, from 2-5 PM in Brooks Hall.
One fun project will be to help decorate ten (10) large glass vases with wire-edged ribbons and Christmas trinkets, then fill them with a layer of pebbles and narcissus bulbs. Helen Brisson will be available to show us the art of making the bows. These sold very well at the last two bazaars, so come to help.
Judy Montgomery will be happy to receive your knitted offerings next Sunday, November 13th, at the 8:00 service or during the between-services get-together. A portion of the proceeds benefit the children of Condega (Nicaragua) via our Condega Project outreach.
Community Shower Truck — NEXT Sunday Ken Cox and Bob Knudtson will be making a brief introduction of the Fall/Winter campaign for: clothing (socks, underwear, etc.); volunteers (including women one day a week for three hours); and financial support.
Trinity Women’s Retreat Planning Meeting — Tuesday, November 15th Planners for the 2017 Women’s Retreat (February 17-19, at Powell Butte Retreat Center) will meet on Tuesday, November 15th, at 3 PM. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service — Thursday, November 17th Our annual community Thanksgiving celebration, presented by the Interfaith Network of Central Oregon (INCO), will invite all of us, various faith traditions in our community, to reflect on what each can do to encourage peace. This year’s celebration will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2555 NW Shevlin Park Road in Bend, 7-8PM. You are invited to bring a pie to share at the Fourth Annual Pei Fest after the service. Beverages will be provided.
Prayers and support for the people of Standing Rock Several members of Trinity, along with other people of faith from our local community, gathered in solidarity with members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, in North Dakota. We voiced our concerns for the treatment of God’s creation and God’s children there. Photos are posted.

The Sunday Papers coloring pages and activity bags are available at the back of the sanctuary so children can sit with their parents during the church service. The nursery is open and available for parents who would appreciate this offering. It is located in the west wing of this building, up the stairs outside the west sanctuary door. Older children are invited to Children’s Chapel (September to mid-June) during the first part of the service, returning for the Eucharist.
Parents, grandparents, and guardians are welcome to join their children in the Nursery or
Children's Chapel to observe and enjoy these activities.

The small candle on the altar is a Candle for Peace. A practice begun in Russia, peace candles are being passed from church to church around the world. (Ours is from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in The Dalles, Oregon.) The candles and the story of the peace candle are available at the back of the church.

Welcome to Trinity We invite you to “stand and be counted” during our worship this morning. And, then, please come to the Celebration Sunday Brunch in St. Helens Hall following both services.
All Saints’ Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM The Feast of All Saints, November 1, is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, so much so that our observance of the holy day carries over to our celebrations the following Sunday. We give thanks for the Communion of Saints – for the fellowship we share with those who have gone before us, and for the example our forebears have set for all of us.
A special insert is included in this morning’s bulletin, naming some of the saints of God who have gone before, “those we love, but see no longer.” We sometimes refer to them as members of the “Church Triumphant.” During each of our morning services today, we’ll take some time to name these persons.
And also celebrate being woven together with them and one another, taking our place as members of the “Church Militant” through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. This morning we will baptize Hunter Slawosky at our 10:15 service.
Consecration Sunday — TODAY @ 8 and 10:15 AM We welcome Bishop John Thornton as our guest preacher at both of our services this morning. Bishop Thornton served as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Idaho, from 1990 to 1998. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Jan, founded the Lillian Vallely School at the request of a group of Shoshone-Bannock elders of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Eastern Idaho. The elders wanted a school where academic excellence would be expected of the students, and a school where the children would be respected and their culture honored. Bishop Thornton will lead us in a time of commitment at the morning services, encouraging our financial giving and support for the life of our parish family. We ask members to place your “estimate of giving” cards in the basket as you come forward for Communion.

Adult Forum — TODAY @ 9:15 AM Our weekly adult forum meets in Brooks Hall between our morning services, offering a time of fellowship, as well as a chance to exchange information or engage in deeper reflection.
This morning, Father Jed will sit down for a more casual conversation with those coming before the later service. We’ll talk about saints, the heroes of the faith who have lived in the generations before us, together with those who have led exemplary lives in our own lifetimes. We’ll also look at how we, in the Episcopal Church, define the term saint.
Next week, Larry Kogovsek will be here to talk about an initiative he hopes may be helpful as we, in Bend, address the needs of those who don’t have a home in the coming winter months.
Election Day — Tuesday Not that anyone is likely to forget, but Election Day is this coming Tuesday, November 8th. Regardless of who you vote for or who gets elected, we are reminded to respect one another and to pray for the common good. Among the many prayers suggested in our Prayer Book:
Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States and our local communities in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Party: Countdown to Boutique and Bake Sale — Wednesday @ 2 PM This Wednesday, there will be a work party to finish projects (and to celebrate the end of the election!!!). We will have cookies and treats and smiles of relief. Join us to help bake dog treats, wrap items, help with labeling, tie ribbons and bows, or just stop by to say "howdy." Bring your own projects, even if not related to the boutique, to enjoy the afternoon in fellowship, from 2-5 PM in Brooks Hall.
One fun project will be to help decorate ten (10) large glass vases with wire-edged ribbons and Christmas trinkets, then fill them with a layer of pebbles and narcissus bulbs. Helen Brisson will be available to show us the art of making the bows. These sold very well at the last two bazaars, so come to help.
Judy Montgomery will be happy to receive your knitted offerings next Sunday, November 13th, at the 8:00 service or during the between-services get-together. Or (last chance!) you may also bring them to St Helens Hall between 9 AM and 12 PM on November 17th. Contact Judy at (541) 330-1454 if you need other arrangements. Please label each garment with your name, email, appropriate size (sweaters, hats etc.), and kind of yarn and washing instructions. Thank you!
Please plan on bringing baked goods, candies, etc. to St. Helens Hall on Thursday and Friday, November 17th and 18th between 12:00 noon and 5:00. Have them wrapped and ready to sell and include a list of ingredients. Gluten-free items are always welcome. Trinity Pilgrims Hike — Thursday The next Trinity Pilgrims a hike is on for Thursday, November 10th. We will celebrate the end of the election by hiking together in our blessed central Oregon. Circle of Love (COL) Women’s Gathering — Thursday @ noon Note the time! During the winter months (November – March) COL will meet at noon rather than in the evening. 8th Annual Holding the Light Glass Sale — Saturday @ 1 PM All are invited to a show and sale of beautiful hand-blown glass by Michele Kaptur and Mark Gordon this coming Saturday, November 12th, from 1-4 PM. A portion of the proceeds benefit the children of Condega (Nicaragua) via our Condega Project outreach.
Community Shower Truck — NEXT Sunday Ken Cox and Bob Knudtson will be making a brief introduction of the Fall/Winter campaign for: clothing (socks, underwear, etc.); volunteers (including women one day a week for three hours); and financial support.
Trinity Women’s Retreat Planning Meeting — Tuesday, November 15th Planners for the 2017 Women’s Retreat (February 17-19, at Powell Butte Retreat Center) will meet on Tuesday, November 15th, at 3 PM. Interfaith Thanksgiving Service — Thursday, November 17th Our annual community Thanksgiving celebration, presented by the Interfaith Network of Central Oregon (INCO), will invite all of us, various faith traditions in our community, to reflect on what each can do to encourage peace. This year’s celebration will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2555 NW Shevlin Park Road in Bend, 7-8PM. You are invited to bring a pie to share at the Fourth Annual Pei Fest after the service. Beverages will be provided.
Prayers and support for the people of Standing Rock Several members of Trinity, along with other people of faith from our local community, gathered in solidarity with members of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation, in North Dakota. We voiced our concerns for the treatment of God’s creation and God’s children there. Photos are posted.
