Summer
This weeks joke is from Mr T
Greetings I can’t believe week 2 is nearly over. The tone around the school is great. Children are happy to be back at school. Teachers are enjoying their classes and our amazing support staff are enjoying the groups they get to work with. Over the next few weeks everyone is establishing relationships.
Getting to know one another. At Pembroke we see this as the key to success. Teachers getting to know their students and building positive relationships. Parents feeling good about coming in to discuss any arising issue. Parent teacher Interviews Just a reminder these will be held in Mid March. We call these our goal setting interviews. By this time the teachers have got to know the children and had discussions about what they know, how they feel about their learning and what they want to achieve in the short and long term. Please have these discussions with your children as well so that when you meet each party can share their information and set common goals. Your insight into your children is valuable as you will always know them better than us. Touch starts next week. My thanks to those of you who are suppor ting the teams. Teams and organisation are almost sorted. The draw is often out late especially in the first few sessions as teams are consolidated and all the details worked out. We will send the draw home when we get it. It will also be available on the North Otago touch website and or facebook page. Sleep Each year I remind everyone that children need sleep. Please do your best to keep good routines and get your children to bed at a reasonable time. It really does support learning. Mrs Murcott Mrs Murcott is our amazing office manager. She is fantastically friendly and is usually your first contact when visiting or calling the school. Please support her by phoning in with any absences as early as you can. 4370931. We also have a dedicated cell phone for absences. 0274310932. Please include your child’s name classroom and reason for absence when you call or text us. Your support is appreciated as Sharon can spend a lot of time calling to check on absent children. Part of our safety plan for your child is to ensure we know where they are if they don’t turn up at school. Have a great weekend Regards Brent and Staff
