What is a hybrid
class?
• Hybrid classes combine the traditional (F2F) class
experience with online learning
• The best of both worlds
• A hybrid class is not easier nor is it necessarily faster
Why?
• Summer hybrid health courses are the first step in the
Futures Project
• Provide flexibility in scheduling through hybrid classes
and alternative learning activities
• Options to accommodate varied learning styles
• Our health curriculum and teachers for our students
What is moodle?
• Moodle is a Learning Management System (LMS)
• It allows teachers to put their classrooms on the
Internet
• Assignments, tests, class work, online classroom,
discussion forums, and lessons can all be found here
• It is your classroom when you are at home

• To log in use the same user name and password that you use at school
• Once you log in you will see all the classes available at Penfield
• When you click on the class you are enrolled in it will ask for an enrollment key
• Your enrollment key is located on the front of your packet

• If you have forgotten your school login please contact
the Penfield Help Desk at 249-5769. Calls are taken

Class expectations
Students must attend all F2F classes and complete all
online learning activities each day.
• Class meets two hours per day, three days per week, for three
weeks
• Online learning activities and assignments must be completed by
the due dates
