Cathedral Cash: Now is a great time to begin getting your
rebates towards the new school year! You may start acquiring
rebates for the 2020/21 school year beginning on June 1! If
you place an order for physical cards, arrangements can be
made for you to pick it up from Kerri Weaver’s home. She will
place an order on Tuesday, June 2, by 9am. The inventory
of grocery cards can hopefully be increased so that those cards
will also be available. Kerri will place a weekly order for
physical cards if people actually place an order on a weekly
basis. If there are not many orders made weekly, then she may
decide to place orders every other week. Currently, there are
not enough helpers to sell Cathedral Cash after weekend
Masses. However, if you are interested in helping, wish to
place an order, or have questions, please contact Kerri at
[email protected]. Don’t forget you also can
order Cathedral Cash anytime at www.shopwithscrip.com.
Seminarian Pius Nsoh-Awasom’s Message . . .
Greetings all,
My name is Pius Nsoh-Awasom Jr. I am a seminarian for our Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph. I was
born and raised in Cameroon, West Africa, but my immediate family and I moved to the United States in
2009. I attended Winnetonka High School in Kansas City. I had been considering a priestly vocation since
about age seven. While I was in high school, my discernment of a possible calling to be a priest of Christ was
intensified. The Lord granted me the gift of meeting Fr. Hansen, who became my spiritual director. He
emphasized the importance of prayer, helped foster my spiritual life, and meticulously guided me through
when I decided to enter the seminary. In 2014, I applied and was accepted. I have since completed my four
years of Philosophy at St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Nebraska, and my second year of Theology at
Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.
My heart is filled with immense joy and anticipation as I look forward to spending the year learning from and
growing with you here at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. I thank you for such a warm welcome. Special thanks
also to our two priests, Fr. Hansen and Fr. Becker. I pray God continues to bless you. Thank you.
