What’s Happening in Metal Finishing l? Grasson M. Gall Columbia Chemical announces the promotions of Pete Grasson and Marty Gall. Grasson is step- ping up to the position of Plant Manager, where he will be responsible for implementing Columbia’s IS0 9001:2000 quali- ty systems. His duties will include OCEA compliance, hazardous communications, and scheduling manufacturing. Grasson served as Columbia Chemical’s quality control expert and lab technician for 3 years. Marty Gall has been appointed Sales Manager of the Far East region. Gall will be responsible for exports to that area, as well as sourcing and importing raw materials. He has been with Columbia Chemical for 11 years, most recently serv- ing as Operations and Purchasing Manager. Revill has an extensive back- ground working in furnace design, glass production, oxy fuel technology, and general combus- tion engineering. He has previ- ously assisted Eclipse with proj- ects in China, Indonesia, and New Zealand. In this new position Revill will handle business devel- opment in New Zealand and pro- vide other Eclipse representatives in the region with technical and commercial support. Ming received his B.S. in Polymer Science and Engineering at Tongji University in Shanghai and his PhD from the Department of Polymer Science at the University of Akron in Ohio. Ming has previ- ously conducted research and taught in U.S. and Chinese uni- versities including the Maurice Morton Institute of Polymer Science at the University of Akron, Tongji University in Shanghai, and Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. Ming will manage all aspects of the company’s Compound Development, Compound Selection, and Process Control. Shercon has also appointed Nancy Zhou as its new Quality Assurance Manager. Fluent in both English and Chinese, Zhou will oversee management of the QA system including vendor audits/approval, material inspec- tion, as well as quality control of compounding and processing operations at the company’s mod- ern molding facility in Hangzhou, China. Nicole Kinder has been pro- moted to the position of Project Coordinator of Shercon. In her new position, Kinder will be responsible for contract review, project management, and utiliz- ing the company’s online collabo- ration tool to share tooling and design information between Shercon facilities and the cus- tomer.
