Brand Brief

To those who want to look good:

Welcome to the brand book that will show you what you have been searching for. We are a company based out of Santa Cruz, CA. We started out as a couple of friends making t-shirts for ourselves, but when perple liked our designs we wanted to share the wealth. Our focus is on those people who have the desire to dress like a true Santa Sruz surfer. In California we are known as one of the famous surf spots, so naturally people want to dress likeus.the best part is that anyone can pull off this style. We want our apparel to appeal to all ages.

We want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible without comprimising good looks. we hope that anyone that stumbles upon this book is truly impressed with our clothing line.

Logo

When coming up with our logo design. We found out that we never had a reallogo that followed all of our apparel. Knowing that, we knew that to get recognized by the mass public we would have to create a logo. The logo we chose felt had the right “pizazz” to get people into what we have to offer. Overall we greatly appreciated the work done by the design company and we think that with the logo they created we bring us to the status we hope for.

To ensure that our logo stays perserved and does not get tampered for the worse partthese are some simple guidelines to be followed:

The misuse of color is abig no-no

Scaling should stay the same

The logo should not be shiftedin any way

Cruzthe logo should never be covered or skewed

Typefaces

When choosing the typeface for the company, I wanted something that couldbe considered semi-playful without making it look to ridiculous. It seems like most fonts are going for the rugged type look when it comes to extreme sports, and I want to show that it doesn’t have to be like that to have the same impact. I chose Impact for the bolder headlines so that they would have the “pizazz”to stand out but not overpower the entire piece of work. And for the other typeface,a Iwanted something that was visible but not too strong. Geosans Light would stand as abody copy text.

Anyone who has been to the Santa Cruz area can tell that just by walking through Santa Cruz thereare common colors that you will notice subliminally.

That made it easy to choose colors that no matter who you are or how old you are you will recognize the colors and they will be nothing but pleasing to your eyes. the colors below are used for the logo, letterhead, and any print out we may need.

When creating the tag-line, we could have gone in many directions. We figured that the best route to go was a logo that would be very pleasing to repeat and something that we thought had the longevity to stay around for a long time and really stick into peoples minds.
