Perth East is well served by three carriers providing daily passenger and freight rail services and is located within a 1.5 hour drive of five international shipping ports.

There are five international airports that serve the region all located within a 1.5 hour drive equipped to handle corporate, freight and recreational flights.

Welcome to the Township of Perth East, a thriving community situated in southwestern Ontario, in the northeast section of the County of Perth.

Approximately 6.0 million people live within 250 kilometres (150 miles).

Less than an hour drive to Stratford, Ingersoll, London, Woodstock, Kitchener, and Waterloo, Perth East has a trade market area of over 900,000.

UTILITIES

Perth East has a variety of utilities servicing its area. Hydro One and Union Gas provide energy sources such as electricity and natural gas, water, sewage and waste management are services provided municipally by the Township.

There are a plethora of telecommunications providers for the area. Speeds are comparable to urban areas at 1.5 Mbps download and 512 Kbps upload, with capacity for higher speeds for commercial and industrial users. Local providers include: Mornington Communications that had served approximately 1900 customers in the 595 exchange since 1919, Bell Canada that currently services over 13 million phone lines in Canada and Rogers Communications that is one of Canada’s largest communications companies.

In 2017-18, Union Gas invested in bringing affordable natural gas to the communities of Milverton, Rostock and Wartburg, offering to residents an energy cost reduction up to 50% and making local business more competitive.
