About PeruOfficial name is Republic of Peru.It is located near West coast in the South America.Its government is constitutional Republic with a president, a congress and a supreme court.The capital city is Lima.Population is 29,549,517.The main official language is Spanish.

Perus Geography 1It is the third largest country in South America after Brazil and Argentina.Peru is made up of various landscapes from mountains to beaches and from desert to rain forest.Most people live along the coast of the Pacific ocean where the capital city, Lima is located in.

Perus Geography 2Along the West coast, there is a narrow strip desert. It is 1555miles long (2500km).Perus ancient people called the Chimu and the Nasca were first inhabited the desert thousands years ago.The desert takes place of only 10% of Peru but it is the home to more than half of the Peruvian.

Perus Geography 3The second highest mountain range in the world, called Andes runs through Peru. It has many different kind of ecosystem so there are various plants and animals than any other countries on Earth.

HistoryPeru is a very old country.The earliest inhabitant arrived there 15,000 years ago.One of the most important Peruvian cultures was the Inca. It began around 600 years ago.

People and cultureThe people of Peru is a mix of several cultures including Indians, Spaniards, the Europeans, descendents of African slaves and Asians. Until recently, people lived in the country sides, but recently 70% of people live in the cities.Most of Peruvians follows Catholic religion introduced by Spanish.

Natural resourcesPeru is the richest country in the world in terms of natural resources.Gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead and iron are found across the country.There are reserves of oil and natural gases.Even so, it is hard to find jobs so Peru remains one of the poorest country in the world.
