Peru is an ideal destination for improving Spanish language skills and experiencing the vibrant culture of Latin America. Cusco is nestled into the Andean Mountains and was the former capital of the Inca Empire. With Machu Picchu (one of the New Seven Wonders) nearby, students will find plenty of opportunities to explore Peru’s rich culture and historical legacy through a variety of archaeological sites like Sacsayhuaman. A short flight awat, is the city of Lima. Lima was the center of Spanish colonial rule and is well known for its rich pre-Columbian history. A UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site, Lima is also Latin America’s culinary capital with delicious local dishes for students to explore. With an international airport nearby, and a great bus network, students can easily explore the rest of the country and region.
