’m back home, I think. I mean, I’m in a rowhouse like the one I grew up in, heading down to a typical Philly low-ceilinged basement. But accompanying me is a wave of tiled colors on the right wall, with a dif ferent set of colors winding down each step. Red dominates the color wave, with splashes of blue, but as I go further down it gives way to brown, then blue, then bursts into orange at the bottom of the steps. I have what looks like an altar in front of me, and the blue wall behind it looks like it sprouted black and white growths, though one is actually white with red spots. To the left, a skeleton that looks like a Mexican Day of the Dead figure has too many arms to be grinning at me so happily.
