SURVEY

Page 3: Pinterest

Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, "re-pin" images to their own pinboards, or "like" photos. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp. It is managed by Cold Brew Labs and funded by a small group of entrepreneurs and investors

Pinterest users can upload, save, sort and manage images, known as pins, and other media content (e.g. videos) through collections known as pinboards. Pinterest acts as a personalized media platform, whereby users' content and the content of others can be browsed on the main page. Users can then save individual pins to one of their own boards using the "Pin It" button, with Pinboards typically organized by a central topic or theme.

Why people now are choosing Pinterest over Facebook

Have you noticed companies displaying posters of their products in their offices? The purpose is to acquaint visitors with the products and to highlight the innovation and function it represents. However, the impact of these posters is limited to the office and a few other public areas where they are displayed.Pinterest helps to solve this 'limited space' problem, since it is a social media website that lets users 'pin' photographs they like and share them with friends and followers. Once registered on the site, the user can pin photographs on a virtual pin board available on the Pinterest home page.

Once they figured out their individualinspirations, they then bought or created theseinspirations based on their pins and sent them acustomized gift box containing their inspirations alongwith a box of Kotex.

Pin it to Win it

So what does the anatomy of a successful product pin look like? At its heart are hash tags and links to the specific pages of interest within your product catalogues—these make it easy for people to identify and find your products. People don't want to land on the same dummy default landing page for every one of your posts pointing to some larger catalogue. Also, including the price on a pin generates an average of 36% more likes. Another great strategy is to include featured sales and discounts on your landing pages.

campaign success with proper organization. Create theme-based boards by grouping together similar images, products and other content. It's ok to also spread some of your pins around to be featured on multiple different boards. As users can choose which individual boards of yours they subscribe to, having a little overlap can help introduce your audience to undiscovered portions of your catalogue.
