Bloodhounds
Bloodhounds are a newly formed rock band from Bridgwater. we have decided to come in from an angle
that looks at how the band first formed and what challenges they faced along the way. We also hope to sit the band members down individually and have one to one interviews, in a style only hearing the responses
rather than hearing us ask the questions…
We will are looking to aim are target audience to members of the public who have recently formed a band, or who aspire to be able to form one in the
future. We also are aiming our niche audience at young teenagers aspiring to this as, bloodhounds is a
relatively young band and we feel the documentary who have a stronger appeal to a younger audience
Style and formWe also hope to sit the band members down individually and have one to one
interviews, in a style only hearing the responses rather than hearing us ask the questions…
We also had the idea from researching other band documentaries that at the end we could start interviewing the band together.

ResolutionWe will introduce our documentarywith a range of shots with one of
the bandssongs in a sound bridge. We will
then have a few shots of the band playing in the studio.
We will then introduce the different band members
individually and interview, them with cross cuts
between the different people but the same questions.
there will also be music in the background that will slowly get faster as time goes on.
They finally get to record in the studio and start getting all of there
songs together.
There will then be some shots of the band
playing though some of there recordings and
finishing the session off for the day.
They will then all answer a question together which will be “what advice
would you give to someone wanting to form a band?” and also “Where do you see yourself in the
future?”

LocationsThe location this documentary will
most take place in is the studio. This is
because it is more of a related location to the subject and will
be useful to get a lot of shots (soundboard
close ups, instruments). Also the sound will be
good in the studio as it is sound proof.
ShotsIn the short band documentary
“We Roll” there were many great examples of close ups on sounds boards and speakers etc in the
intro of the documentary… I think this is a good idea to set
the subject of the documentary right at the start.
ResearchWe did some research into other band
documentaries to see what kind of questions were asked and the different
shots that were used. We first had a look at the short film documentary called “we
roll”.
we found out that almost in every band documentary we watched the opening
question was “How was the band formed?”. I think this would be a good
question for us to open with because our main target audience is people trying to
form a band.
Another idea we had from other band documentaries is that the interviews
were mostly individual but at the end the band was asked questions together.
- (plan ContingencyB)• THE MAIN NARRATIVE IS BASED ON A 60 YEAR OLD
ELDERLY GENTLEMAN NAMED KELVIN. KELVIN IS A SIMPLE MAN WHO WORKS AND LIVES ON MILL FARM CAMPSITE AS A GENERAL JANITOR DOING ODD JOBS AROUND THE SITE. HOWEVER HE HOLDS A COMPLICATED AND DANGEROUS PAST
WE DECIDED TO GO WITH THE TITLE OF KELVIN AS IT’S SIMPLE ENOUGH THAT IT WONT TAKEAWAY FROM THE MAIN STORY OF THE CHARACTER. ITS ALSO A BROAD ENOUGH TITLE THAT IT WONT GIVE AWAY THE THEME OF THE SHORT FILM TO THE AUDIENCE STRAIGHT AWAY. WE HAVE DECIDED TO KEEP THIS AS A WORKING TITLE BECAUSE WE ARE NOT 100% WHETHER IT WILL FIT IN WITH THE MAIN NARRATIVE.
WE HAVE ALSO DECIDED TO GO WITH THE TAGLINE “ A SIMPLE MAN WITH A NOT SO SIMPLE PAST” WE WENT WITH THIS BECAUSE WE WANTED TO KEEP THE AUDIENCE GUESSING AND INTRIGUED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE NARRATIVE.
CostsThe cost to make our short film will be
low as I thought we may have to pay off the time we spent in the studio due to
the fact the band pay to rent it out. This is because the time is valuable to them
to record and practice, although our short film could be a small promotion
from this short film so they will be gaining from this documentary to replace
the time lost.
