Dharwad, a district in northern Karnataka, rich in art, culture and history is often referred to as the “Education Hub” of Karnataka. The establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology–Dharwad in 2016 only solidifies that name. We at Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad strive to foster and develop India’s leading engineers and citizens by providing our students with an environ-ment conducive to both creativity and curiosity.
IIT Dharwad started with 120 students in its B.Tech. program in three disciplines, and has now grown to house 3 Batches of B.Tech. students and 3 batches of Ph.D researchers. We provide each of our students with world class equipment and resources, to aid them in challenging hands-on based academ-ics that is built on the foundation of IIT–Bombay’s tried and tested course structure. Students are also encouraged to participate in cultural and sports activities to strengthen their individuality. Our faculty comprises of both visiting professors from other IITs and permanent faculty of IIT-Dharwad ensuring the finest teachers to guide the students.

I am pleased to invite you to our esteemed institute on behalf of the students,faculty and the staff of IIT Dharwad, to participate in placements for the final year students and internships for the pre-final year students.
IIT Dharwad’s course structure is designed to incorporate more hands-on approach with the intention to provide students the, necessary skills required to contribute to the practical world of engineering. Most courses include “Course Projects” which the students conceive and are then guided by our knowledgable faculty. Our capable and enthusiastic students contribute to their peers‘ learning in group projects, acting as Teaching assistants and even writing manuals for new courses or making changes to pre-existing ones. As an infant IIT, students form committees to improve their academic productivity and “college experience”. Each student contributes by working through his/her strengths, covering their peers’ weaknesses and helping to turn those weaknesses to strengths.
I look forward to your participation in the placements for the final year students and internships for the pre-final year students, hoping that your visit shall begin a promising and an everlasting relationship between the Institute and your organization in the days ahead.

About IIT dharwad
Established in 2016 as an autonomous institute of national importance by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GoI, Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad) aims at producing world
class engineers who would establish themselves in the higher echelons of any field they venture into.
The institute offers three UG programs – B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Ph.D Programs are offered in the areas of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer
Science, Physics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Biosciences Bioengineering and Chemistry.
The institute aims to make education an innovative and enriching experience through unique blend of academic, sports and extra-curricular programs delivered within student-centric culture to enable the younger
generation emerge as future leaders.
The overall academic environment in the institution is highly conducive for achieving academic excellence and for
developing analytical abilities, ethics and integrity.
Apart from academic excellence, the institute lays emphasis on research temperament and entrepreneurship and motivates
its students to recognize their true potential without the fear of Failure.

A model of an "All Terrain Robot" having good off-road performing capabilities, rough terrain, staircase ascending and descending capability
and generating stable motion in undulating surface.
A mobile application that displays the Dharwad City Bus schedule to the passengers shows the route on map and furthermore suggests routes to go from Place X to Place Y in the minimum time. Done in cooperation with
NWKRTC.
Route mappingPosture Corrector
A device which can recognize and correct a person’s forward slouch.
The device is small enough to be consealed in a jacket/jumper.
Smart Classroom Application that automates day to day class activities
like taking attendance, uploading notes, giving live feedback, asking questions to teachers anonymously,
and live transcript generation for the lecture in regional languages like Hindi, Kannada, etc.
All Terrain Rover
STUdent LIFECampus LifeThe students involve themselves in a multitude of events ranging from clubs, technical activities and sports activities. The Institute has talented teams of students representing it in areas of quizzing, tech-meets and sports-meets. Rigorous academic sessions are interspersed with unwinding games of table tennis, football, screenings in community spaces and relaxing bites at the canteen.
Gymkhana
The Gymkhana plays a very important role in the attainment of a sound mind and body. The Gymkhana conducts Intra as well as Inter-College matches and tournaments. The Gymkhana supports sports like football, cricket, basketball, hockey, volleyball, table-tennis, badminton and the physical instructors also support other activities like cross-country running, cycling and gymming.

STUdent LIFE
ClubsTo express different extracurricular pursuits, from Technological innovation, Robotics to cultural endeavors, Dance and Literary, students have found their own way ofdeveloping their talents as well as collaborating with like-minded people. Clubs such as Literary Club, Quiz Club, Art Club attract students across all years, giving them a chance to experiment and hone their interests and further their
hobbies.
The aesthetic sides of IITians are showcased in cultural events conducted in campus. Festivals are celebrated with students from around the country coming together to blend in their cultures everyone a unique holiday experience. From the frantic paintings of Holi, to the synchronized dances of Garba during Dasara, all are usually followed by staged events where the clubs showcase themselves. Open Mics organised by students which have events spanning across Stand-Up Comedy, Music, Poetry and DJ-ing. Quizzes and Treasure Hunts too are conducted by the students to challenge each other's minds.

Internship Report2018-19
The first internship drive (2018-19) of IIT Dharwad is successfully completed with 28 companies taking part in our campus internship drive and 80% of the students placed.

We have had internship offers from abroad in the countries Singapore, Spain, Taiwan & US.
Majority of our students have availed an internship offer in the engineering and technology sector, followed by the Research and development and then the IT sector.
A notable percentage of our students have keen interest in further studies and have secured an academic internship as well.
