Kosovo is in the center of southeastern Europe and located in the centralBalkans.
The Nerodime River is found in the city of Ferizaj
Bifurcation of Nerodime River is a very rare natural phenomenon of river flow branching out into two seas: South Branch waters flowends in Black SeaNorth Branch waters flowEnds in Aegean Sea

This project take place in a populated and protected area of Nerodime River.
River is laid on a surface of 12.78 ha which is divided into two separate zones:
The narrow tight zone includes all cadastral parcels inside of the zone border and it also includes two inherited cultural objects, which are the old mills.
The protected zone outside the border.

The Municipality of Ferizaj submitted the proposal to the MESP exactly at the ISP
ISP has the responsibility to draft the SPK and prepare the drafting plans on the special content areas of interest by the state.
Another important activity for ISP is professional support to staff in the municipal level.
Action should to be taken as urgently as possible since the area is degraded day by day.

Direct stakeholders are: Municipality of Ferizaj, MESP ( ISP, WD,DSP, DEP, KEPA MCYS MTI (Department of Tourism). Involved are : Citizens of Ferizaj Government of Kosovo MFE University of Prishtina-UoP Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe-REC, NGO-Environmental of Kosovo

Overall objective To protect, maintain and develop touristic opportunities on the
bifurcation of Nerodime River in a sustainable manner until 2013.
Immediate objectives Design a management plan for the flow of waters Design an urban regulating plan and tourism Protect and maintain the historic monument as well as the cultural
aspects of this zone Regulate and apply the green field requirements for the surrounding
areas and regulate the infrastructure of this zone

Outputs and expected Outcomes
Phase1: Drafting of development document “Conservation programme for the BN area”
Phase 2: Attainment of finances for the Conservation programme of BN area
Phase 3: Programme implementation of Conservation and development of BN area
1. Contribution to the local economy, development through the visitors, promotion and marketing of the recreational values of River bifurcation of Nerodime
2. Clean environment around the zone

Risk 1Phase1 Owners are not interesting If this program isn‘t a priority
of the financial stakeholders, of the Municipality of Ferziaj
Risk 2 Outputs from the Phase 2 are
dependant from Phase 1
Part of outputs from Phase 3 are dependant from the outputs of the Phase 1 and 2.

This project is not the priority of the national/local government
Lack of financing from the KCB and IPA Non presence of environment inspection If the law on water or nature allow modifications needed

To find the key elements that led to changes in my project for change
To learn environment and society in general

I have more connections to others in the organization and will need to know more points of contacts

This is a good opportunity for institutional and organizational improvements as a result of the training program
I gave a presentation to my team at the ISP.
I have written a detailed report in the training which was conducted in Sweden which will serve as a good resource to other team members and everyone in ISP.

What I have learned:
To directly contact sources to resolve different problems
risks associated with a project change could face a problem
using projects as tools for change is a vision for creating positive change through updated project management methodology
What I need to know more about:
details about financing
how we can find donors
how we can find the most effective ways to develop and implement the project
