Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is a home-

ownership program that builds, rehabs and repairs

affordable homes in partnership with low-income families.

The organization has been in the metro Denver community

for 36 years and has served more than 600 local families.

In addition to building homes, Habitat Denver owns and

operates four local ReStores. These outlets accept

donations of used furniture, appliances and other home

improvement materials that are sold to the public at a

discount. Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores are a critical

source of funding for the nonprofit.

For anyone renovating their kitchen in the near future, a

great way to give back to Habitat is by using the ReStore

deconstruction team to remove appliances, cabinets and

other materials. Deconstruction materials are then sold at

the four Denver-area ReStores. Habitat’s specialized

deconstruction team helps defray demolition costs for local

homeowners and provides a tax receipt for salvaged goods.
