8/5/18 P & C Meeting - Arts Building 7:30pm

11/5/18 District Cross Country

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

End of Term 1 One quarter of 2018 is officially over at the end of this week and we are looking towards the vacation as a chance to relax, refresh and recharge. Please remember that term 2 commences on Tuesday 17 April 2018, with Monday 16 April being a student free day as a result of the Commonwealth Games.

Thank you for your support during Term 1. I am looking forward to continuing my acting Principal role in Term 2 and enjoying all the wonderful events, activities and fun at Chapel Hill.

Facilities Update We recently needed to fell one of the trees in our forest area due to safety concerns. As routinely happens after one of our recent storms, Lyndal Dobbs, our Business Manager was inspecting the grounds with a Regional Infrastructure Officer when a tree was identified that was a safety risk. An arborist was then engaged to inspect the tree and confirmed this risk. Thank you to Lyndal for this prompt action to ensure the safety of our children.

New buildings Years 2E and 5A are settling into their new classrooms enjoying the new surroundings and the excitement of new furniture. It’s taken a number of weeks and the coordination of a range of services to ensure these buildings were ready for the classes and still ahead of the anticipated end of term 1 timeline.

Classification of movies and videos shown in classrooms Movies and videos that are shown in class will have a rating of G – for general viewing. If a teacher uses a movie or a video with a PG rating – (parental guidance recommended) to support the current teaching program, then parental permission will be sought.

Staff Car park Can I please ask all parents not to use the staff car park between 7am and 4pm as a drop off and pick up area for instrumental music or before and after school activities. There is a sign indicating this at the entrance to this area. This area can become very unsafe with the constant movement of cars driving in and reversing out and children crossing to and from the hall and instrumental music room.

Kirkland Road Development Sunland Group will be commencing a development on the corner of Kirkdale Road and Brushbox Court in early April 2018. Sunland is aware that this area is very busy during school drop off and pick up times and they have met with us to discuss their safety plan as well as other key elements of the development timeline. Attached is the proposed traffic management plan and a project update for your information. If you have any feedback to the traffic management plan, please email Christine – [email protected].

SENIOR CHOIR

It was great to see so many folders coming to Choir last week! Thank you for reminding your child to bring one along. It is really important to have a folder as we need to look after our music sheets.

Please note that Senior Choir will not be on in week 1 of next term (Wednesday 18 April) as I am away at a PD, but it will definitely be on the following Wednesday as we will be rehearsing for our Assembly performance.

ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCE

The Senior Choir will be performing on Assembly in Term 2 - Monday 30 April.

Payment for excursions and incursions are required to be paid prior to your child/children attending. We thank you for your cooperation.

2. Cheque payable to CHSS at the Office.

3. Credit Card / EFTPOS available at the office between 8:15am- 11:00am

4. Direct Deposit to CHSS account. It is most important that as many details as possible are given starting with - Student Name or Customer ID Number, then Invoice Number or activity.

*Please ensure that the amount deposited is the amount that you have been invoiced*

Page 9: PO Box 533,Kenmore,QLD,4069,Australia Phone: (07) … · 2018-03-28 · PO Box 533,Kenmore,QLD,4069,Australia Phone: (07) 3871 4888 Website: Email: admin@chapelhillss.eq.edu.au 27

School Bank details are as follows:-

BSB: 064-152 Account No: 00090226 Account Name: Chapel Hill State School

5. BPoint - to make payment go to website www.bpoint.com.au/payments/dete

Please ensure that the correct information is entered. Information which will need to be entered is as follows:-

- CRN (advised on Invoice. Note: this is not the Customer ID number)- Invoice No (advised on the Invoice)- Students Name (christian and surname)- Amount

The BPoint facility is available for parents to pay online at your convenience. Please remember that an Invoice reference needs to be used and NOT the student ID. Four Fields must be completed as per the diagram below. There is no requirement to advise the school as we receive automatic notification.

Please note that if you are paying by cash or cheque the invoice needs to accompany the payment and placed in the box in the Office. Please do NOT cut the invoice/payment slip. If you wish to combine more than one invoice this is quite acceptable. When the payment is processed a receipt attached to the invoice will be sent home with your child.

DEBTOR STATEMENT INFORMATION

Debtor Statements

Debtor Statements provide parents with the following information:-

1. Overdue Payments. Payment is due two weeks after the issue of the invoice unless a payment plan is in place. No payment may result in your child being unable to attend.

2. Credit on your Child’s Account. Your credit can be held on the account and used at any time. However, you will need to contact the office to arrange this as this does not

Page 10: PO Box 533,Kenmore,QLD,4069,Australia Phone: (07) … · 2018-03-28 · PO Box 533,Kenmore,QLD,4069,Australia Phone: (07) 3871 4888 Website: Email: admin@chapelhillss.eq.edu.au 27

automatically occur.

3. Current Invoices. These are invoices which may have just been issued and payment may not yet be due. You have until the due date of the original invoice to pay this. For example - multiple invoices are issued within the same week. The advantage of this is; if you have received more than one invoice, the debtor statement will have combined all of these onto one statement. Therefore, if you wish, only one payment will be required instead of multiple payments (however, if paying by BPOINT you will only be able to enter one Invoice number).

We have made it to our last week of term 1 and what a great term it has been!
