apply to the internal use of our quartz. The tests were carried out under

UNI EN 12720:1999 standards for internal use.

COUNTER TOPSTECHNICAL INFORMATIONQuartz, the main ingredient of Santamargherita®quartz

products, is a very hard mineral that is unaffected when in contact with

most acids. These characteristics, combined with the Breton molding

technology, give the product chemical and physical characteristics of high

scratch, stain and acid resistance, making it a great choice for kitchen

and vanity tops. Although Santamargherita®quartz is a very highly

performing product, it is not immune to possible damages caused by

either accidental causes or improper use. Therefore we always suggest

the use of trivets to avoid a continual exposure of the surface to heat

sources. Santamargherita®quartz is a scratch resistant product, but it

is not scratch proof. Therefore, when cutting with a knife, it is always

preferable to use a chopping board. For routine cleaning use a damp

cloth with water and a neutral pH detergent or a specific acid detergent

for the cleaning of quartz-resin agglomerate. Even if casual exposure to

alkaline products does not damage the surfaces, high alkaline cleaners are

not suitable for quartz. For tops with mother of pearl inserts, use only

mild household detergent, because the use of acid products can damage

the mother of pearl’s surface.

CHEMICAL TO AVOID - Avoid exposing Santamargherita®quartz to

chemicals and solvents, especially paint removers that might contain

tricholorethane and methylene chloride. Keep away from the surface:

solvents, acetone, alcohol, paint thinners, detergents containing ammonia

or bleach, laundry bluing, highly alkaline liquids such as bleach, caustic soda

or oven cleaners, acids, descalers, permanent markers or ink, abrasive and

micro-abrasive products in cream or powder form. If any of the substances

listed above comes into contact with Santamargherita®quartz surfaces,

rinse it immediately and thoroughly with water.

A titolo puramente indicativo si riportano di seguito i risultati dei testdi macchiabilità a sostanze detergenti eseguiti in laboratorio secondola norma UNI EN 12720:1999 e quelli dei test interni di resistenzadella superficie ai detergenti.

PIANI PER ARREDONOTE SPECIF ICHEIl quarzo, principale costituente dei prodotti Santamargherita®quartz,

è un minerale durissimo e inattaccabile dalla maggior parte degli acidi. Queste caratteristiche, abbinate alla tecnologia di formatura impiegata, conferiscono al prodotto proprietà chimico-fisiche di elevata resistenza al graffio, alle macchie ed all’attacco acido, che lo rendono particolarmente adatto all’impiego per la produzione di piani cucina e bagno. Pur essendo Santamargherita® quartz un prodotto altamente performante, non è esente da possibili danneggiamenti, derivanti da cause accidentali o da un utilizzo improprio. Si consiglia quindi l’uso di sottopentola per evitare l’esposizione continua delle superfici a fonti di calore. Santamargherita®quartz è un prodotto resistente ai graffi, ma non a prova di graffio. Pertanto, quando si utilizza un coltello, un tagliere è sempre consigliato. Per la pulizia delle superfici utilizzare un panno umido e del detergente a pH neutro o leggermente acido specifico per la pulizia di agglomerato quarzo-resina. Anche se l’esposizione casuale a prodotti alcalini non danneggia le superfici, detergenti fortemente alcalini non sono raccomandati per la pulizia di tali superfici. I materiali che contengono madreperla devono essere lavati esclusivamente utilizzando detergenti neutri. L’impiego di prodotti acidi rovina la superficie della madreperla.

SOSTANZE CHIMICHE DA EVITARE - Evitare di esporre le superfici a

sostanze chimiche come acetone o alcool, diluenti, detergenti contenenti

ammoniaca o candeggina, prodotti fortemente alcalini come ammoniaca, soda

caustica o detergenti per forno, pennarelli indelebili o inchiostro, prodotti

abrasivi e micro abrasivi in crema o in polvere. Se una delle sostanze sopra

indicate vengono a contatto con la superficie sciacquare immediatamente e

accuratamente con acqua.
