Prozess der Profilextrusion

Bei der Profilextrusion wird der Rohstoff – eine Pulver-mischung aus PE-UHMW, Additiven und Farbpigmenten –unter hohem Druck durch ein beheiztes Werkzeug gedrückt.Das Material wird plastisch und nimmt die Form desWerkzeuges an. Nach Verlassen des Werkzeuges ist einkontrolliertes Abkühlen wichtig, um innere Spannungenauszugleichen und ein Verziehen des Profils zu vermeiden.Bei hoher Temperatur dehnt sich der Werkstoff aus undzieht sich beim anschließenden Erkalten wieder zusammen.Daher ist die exakte Auslegung des Werkzeuges besonderswichtig, um im fertigen Profil die Form und die vorgege-benen Toleranzen einzuhalten.

The profile extrusion process

In profile extrusion, the raw material – a powder mixtureof PE-UHMW, additives and colouring pigments – is forcedthrough a heated tool under high pressure. The materialbecomes plastic and takes on the form of the tool. Afterleaving the tool, controlled cooling is essential in order toequalize internal stresses and prevent the profile warping.The material expands at high temperature and thencontracts again as it subsequently cools down. This meansit is particularly important to configure the tool preciselyso that the form and prescribed tolerances are kept in thefinished profile.

Machined profiles

For prototypes or quantities for which the manufactureof an extrusion tool is not economically viable, we canalso produce profiles through machining processes. To doso Röchling uses modern profile milling machines thatallow even complex cross-sections to be produced. Der Einsatz gleitoptimierterKomponenten in einem Förderprozess kann diebenötigte Förderkraft – und somit die einge-setzte Energie – auf ein Minimum verringern.Die Leistungsfähigkeit und Effizienz der Anlagekann so deutlich verbessert werden.

Gleitreibungskoeffizient reduziert

Speziell für Anwendungen in der Förder- undAutomatisierungstechnik hat Röchling mitLubX® C und LubX® S zwei neue, PE-1000-basierteHochleistungswerkstoffe entwickelt, die überherausragende Trockenlaufeigenschaften ver-fügen. Der Gleitreibungskoeffizient konnte umbis zu 75 Prozent reduziert werden. Im Vergleichzu herkömmlichen Gleitwerkstoffen benötigenmit LubX® ausgestattete Fördersysteme deutlichweniger Energie, die Prozessstabilität wird er-höht und der Geräuschpegel erheblich verringert.

Tribologische Systeme

Bei der Entwicklung der LubX®- Produkte wurdenicht nur darauf geachtet, den Gleitreibungs-koeffizienten der Gleitwerkstoffe zu minimieren,sondern das tribologische System der Gleitpartnerganzheitlich zu betrachten und auf die jeweiligen,speziellen Anforderungen hin abzustimmen.Deshalb wurden die einzelnen Bewegungs- undTransportabschnitte von verschiedenen Förder-systemen analysiert und die Relativbewegungender Elemente und die an den Berührungspunktenentstehenden Reibungskräfte untersucht. DieseKräfte haben maßgeblichen Einfluss auf dieLeistungsfähigkeit des Fördersystems.

Improve energy efficiency

With energy prices rising in the long term,lowering energy costs plays an increasinglymore important role in the project planning ofproduction, storage and logistic processes. Whenutilising components with optimized sliding pro-perties in conveying processes, the conveyingpower required – and thus the energy applied –may be reduced to a minimum. The performanceand efficiency of the plant can thus be considerablyenhanced.

Reduced coefficient of friction

In LubX® C and LubX® S, Röchling has developedtwo new, PE-1000-based high-performancematerials with outstanding dry running propertiesespecially for use in materials-handling techno-logy and automation. The slide friction coefficienthas been reduced by as much as 75 per cent.When compared to conventional slide materials,conveyor systems equipped with LubX® requiresignificantly less energy, process stability isincreased and the noise level is considerablyreduced.

Tribological systems

In the development of LubX® products, great carehas not only been taken to minimise the coeffi-cient of friction of the sliding materials, but alsoto consider the tribological system of the slidingpartners in an integrated manner and especiallyaligned to the particular specific requirementsconcerned. The individual motion and transportsegments of different conveying systems wereanalysed, and the relative movements of theelements and the frictional forces arising atthe points of contact examined. These frictionalforces have a decisive impact on the perfor-mance of the conveying system.

Mit LubX® S und LubX® C hat Röchling im Jahr 2012 zwei Gleitwerkstoffe für dieFördertechnik vorgestellt, deren Gleiteigenschaften gezielt auf ihren jeweiligenGleitpartner hin optimiert wurden.

Speziell für Anlagen, die mit höheren Geschwindigkeiten und somit höhererProduktivität betrieben werden sollen, hat Röchling nun LubX® CV entwickelt.LubX® CV verfügt über außergewöhnlich gute Gleiteigenschaften bei gleich-zeitig niedrigster Temperaturentwicklung. Beides hat einen geringerenAbrieb und eine lange Lebensdauer des gesamten Systems zur Folge.

In wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen mit der Technischen Universität Chemnitz,Institut für Fördertechnik und Kunststoffe, und der Universität Erlangen, Lehrstuhlfür Kunststofftechnik, hat LubX® CV den hohen Anspruch bestätigt.Lassen Sie sich von Fakten überzeugen.

In 2012 Röchling introduced two sliding materials for the conveyor industry:LubX® S and LubX® C. Both materials’ sliding properties have been optimizedspecifically for their respective sliding partners.

Röchling has now developed LubX® CV: Especially for systems to be operated athigher speeds and therefore higher productivity. LubX® CV has exceptionallygood sliding properties and at the same time exhibits a very low temperaturedevelopment. Both results in lower wear and a longer lifespan of the entiresystem.

Während der Prüfung des Gleitreibungskoeffizientenmisst ein Infrarotsensor (Pyrometer) berührungslos dieTemperaturentwicklung direkt auf der Reibfläche derProbe. Die gemessene Temperatur von LubX® CV stiegim Test nicht über 28° C und lag bis zu 17° C unter denanderen Werkstoffproben. Zudem zeigt der Prüfkörperaus LubX® CV nach 24 Stunden nahezu keine Verschleiß-erscheinungen.

During the test of the coefficient of sliding friction, aninfrared sensor (pyrometer) measures the temperaturedevelopment directly on the friction surface of the samplewithout contacting it. The measured temperature of LubX®CV in the test does not rise over 28° C, which was up to17° C below the other material samples. In addition, theLubX® CV sample shows almost no signs of wear after24 hours.
