L’echangeur Konstanz, Germany

ConceptKonstanz is a cross-border city located on the frontary between Germany and Switzerland. It is separated in two parts by the Rhin river that takes it source in the Konstanz Lake: an attractive feature which brings every summer a lot of tourists. There is also an highway that crosses the city and enables to go directly to Switzerland.

The city has a real need to create new housings but doesnt have a lot of free grounds to build. However, there is a commercial-industrial area at the entrance of the city. This area is in reconversion since those last 10 years.

How to create a new life in this area and make coexists industry and housings ?How to create a new attractive pole and bring a young population for the city ?

The project is divided in two zones : a mixed neighbourhood and the creation of a new cultural center.

The spirit of the project is the requalification of the highway in a new urban boulevard, with new transports : tramway, bicycles, public transportation.

The mixed neighbourhood is based on 3 tipologies of building. The programme is made of :- Shops and local amenities on the ground floor- Offices, Workshops and hanging gardens- Housings

Desierto de los monegros SPAIN

ConceptThe project is based in the Desierto de los Mone-gros, in the North-East of Spain. It is a rural area, really enjoyed for its big spaces, its Nature, and its architectural heritage. This project is unconventional, because it first started with a hike of several days in the desert., that led to a work of photography and cartography. For some personal reasons, the poem «A Carcass» from Charles Baudelaire will also influence the project. As it says in the poem, Territory, Ruins and Architecture form a unity.

The territory of monegros has a multitude of buil-dings in ruins : abandonned farms, old administrative buildings and militar constructions from the 13th centu-ry. All those little pieces of architecture are isolated keys to understand the territory in its totality.

The project focus on two main zones : the militar tower of the village of Farlete and an old saltworks. Those two places go to show a global phenomenon of the desert : the human abandoning.

CONTEXTAfter this first step of investigation, we propose the rehabilitation of the militar tower in a multifonctional refuge for the hikers and the administrative buildings of the saltworks in a center of information for the architectural heritage of the desert.

Edificio PARQUE SUR Madrid,SpAIN

ConceptThe edifcio Parque Sur is an industrial building from the 30’s located in the south of Madrid, in a residential area. The neighbourhood, formerly isolated, is getting a second life with the apparition of new cultural projects. The building is triangle-shaped and has two stories with a glass roof on the top. It was used by the city to fix and clean the cars that belonged to the city council.

The rehabilitation of the building needs to create a new meeting point for the neighbourhoods around and a place of multi-activities. It has to be a place where the citizens can develop and share their skills. The programmation contains : - a fab-lab- a library- spaces of representation and conferences- a cafeteria- playground spaces / chilling spaces

CONTEXTThe base of the project consist in covering the building with a big glass bubble, to create a protected envi-ronment (as the geodesic domes of Buckminster Fuller).

Inside, we keep some parts of the structure of the old buildings (slabes and pillars) to create two main modules.

Living in “Montagne Verte” Strasbourg, FRANCE

Concept

Create housings in a site located in the area of «Montagne Vert» in the city of Strasbourg, France. The site is really delicate, because it is just on a crossroads and the neigbourhood. There are also a lot of sociological and urban issues, because Montagne Verte is far from the center, but connected with a Tramway. We find also several concert venues in the neighbourhood.

Programmation :- Temporary efficiency apartments for musicians (coming for concerts in the venues around)- Familial apartments based on a modular architecture (Duplex, U housings, triplex with workshops area)- Public spaces : a community space in the middle of the block- Spaces of rehearsal, artists’s living room- Facilities : Waste sorting for the garbage, Bicycle parking

the nomadic tent Concept

Create a cover to protect an archeological site of Roman ruins. The programmation needs a conference space for 30 people with the possibility to stick up some educational informations and a exhibition space ( to show some models of the ruins for example).

For this project, there is a real wish to create a cover that highlight the beauty of the ruins and bring back the archeological spirit of the site. The accumulation of pillars give the impression to walk under a huge nomadic tent. It creates a primitive relationship with the site and enables to gently lift up the cover to enables the natural light to illuminate the ruins. The cover is the most discreet possible, because the element that needs to be important are the ruins. The conference spaces, raw, is located in a discreet reception area.

The structure is made of glue laminated wood beams, braced with stainless steel cables that support a web made of polytetrafluoroethylene.

tHE cUBE

Concept

A cube of 6 meters a side in which must appear: - an continuous pening on two sides - an additional opening - a vertical wall - an horizontal wall - an other cube, smaller

This cube has several spaces characterized by different spatial sensation and light atmosphere. This diversity enables to imagine the cube as an art gallery, where it is possible to expose art pieces of all dimensions thanks to the differences of ceiling heights. The little cube located on the first floor create an more intimist space where you can have aerial view on the gallery and the exterior.
