A Bengali-language version of Jerome D'Costa's English article on how some Bangladeshi Catholics have been carrying their Portuguese names for the last 400 years. Portuguese Catholic missionaries, who gave these names, started to arrive in East Bengal region (present Bangladesh) towards the end of the 16th century.
