Positive Relationships and High Expectations Newsletter #11 22 July 2015 Principal’s Note Dates to Remember!! Dear Parents & Carers, A very ‘cool’ welcome back to Semester 2 2015. I refer to the ‘cool’ temperature of course - the weather has been fantastic and a nice way to settle back into the new term and semester for all of our staff and students. I would like to welcome a number of new families to Bakewell. Our total enrolment has now reached 770 students. It is great that Bakewell is the school of choice for parents and carers within our priority enrolment area. I have met with a number of families recently, as well as members of the broader community, and the consistent feedback and opinion is that Bakewell is a high quality school delivering on our commitment to provide an excellent education service. Our intent is to continue to improve and strive for excellence. I would also like to communicate a number of positive staffing changes: Erin Francis– Year 3/4 Teacher. Erin will also be leading the Middle Primary as a Senior Teacher for Semester 2 2015. Chris Beagley- ICT Specialist Teacher Haylee Holliday– Year 4 Teacher (formerly 4 Beagley). Kylie Drysdale– Year 5 Teacher (formerly 5 Francis) Tamara Telley- Year 3 teacher (team teaching with Jody McAulay) Thank you to folks who have commented on our fantastic school grounds. We have worked hard during the break to improve the overall look and feel of our school. The A Block extension was completed giving Transition students an undercover outdoor learning area. We have painted the demountable classrooms and restrooms which now feel ‘new’ and over 30 large trees were also planted to provide more greenery and shade across the school. There are further works to be completed including painting and landscaping. As always can I implore you to assist us with some fundamental expectations at Bakewell. Attendance - please ensure that you child/children attend school every day- where possible! Uniform - all Bakewell Primary students are required to be in correct uniform - this includes black ‘bottoms’ (shorts/skirts etc) and the Bakewell shirt. Please note that the past Bakewell house coloured shorts are no longer part of our uniform and are therefore not to be worn to school. Recess and Lunch - please ensure that your child has a satisfactory and preferably healthy recess and lunch. Classroom Teachers will be sending home letters to parents and carers to ensure you are well informed on matters specific to your child’s class. Please do not hesitate to contact teachers and/or our front office staff if there is anything we can do to assist you and help support your child education. Have a fantastic week!! Dates to Remember!!

Dear Parents & Carers,

A very ‘cool’ welcome back to Semester 2 2015. I refer to the ‘cool’ temperature of course

- the weather has been fantastic and a nice way to settle back into the new term and

semester for all of our staff and students.

I would like to welcome a number of new families to Bakewell. Our total enrolment has

now reached 770 students. It is great that Bakewell is the school of choice for parents and

carers within our priority enrolment area. I have met with a number of families recently, as

well as members of the broader community, and the consistent feedback and opinion is

that Bakewell is a high quality school delivering on our commitment to provide an

excellent education service.

Our intent is to continue to improve and strive for excellence.

I would also like to communicate a number of positive staffing changes:

Erin Francis– Year 3/4 Teacher. Erin will also be leading the Middle Primary as a

Senior Teacher for Semester 2 2015.

Chris Beagley- ICT Specialist Teacher

Haylee Holliday– Year 4 Teacher (formerly 4 Beagley).

Kylie Drysdale– Year 5 Teacher (formerly 5 Francis)

Tamara Telley- Year 3 teacher (team teaching with Jody McAulay)

Thank you to folks who have commented on our fantastic school grounds. We have

worked hard during the break to improve the overall look and feel of our school. The A

Block extension was completed giving Transition students an undercover outdoor learning

area. We have painted the demountable classrooms and restrooms which now feel ‘new’

and over 30 large trees were also planted to provide more greenery and shade across the

school. There are further works to be completed including painting and landscaping.

As always can I implore you to assist us with some fundamental expectations at Bakewell.

Attendance - please ensure that you child/children attend school every day- where

possible!

Uniform - all Bakewell Primary students are required to be in correct uniform - this

includes black ‘bottoms’ (shorts/skirts etc) and the Bakewell shirt. Please note

that the past Bakewell house coloured shorts are no longer part of our uniform

and are therefore not to be worn to school.

Recess and Lunch - please ensure that your child has a satisfactory and preferably

healthy recess and lunch.

Classroom Teachers will be sending home letters to parents and carers to ensure you are

well informed on matters specific to your child’s class. Please do not hesitate to contact

teachers and/or our front office staff if there is anything we can do to assist you and help

support your child education.

Have a fantastic week!!
