• Petroleum product consumption registered a cumulative growth of 1.8% during April-December 2019 and a minor drop of
0.1% during December 2019. Except for naphtha, SKO, HSD, LDO, FO/LSHS & bitumen all other products registered growth
during December 2019.
Exports of POL products increased by 24.2% and 6.7% during December 2019 and April-December 2019 respectively as
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Increase in POL products exports during April-December 2019
was mainly due to increase in exports of naphtha and high speed diesel (HSD).
POL products imports increased by 33.8% and 35.2% during December 2019 and April-December 2019 respectively as
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Increase in POL products imports during April-December 2019
was due to increase in imports of all products except naphtha and aviation turbine fuel (ATF).
Highlights for the monthIndigenous crude oil and condensate production during December 2019 was lower by 7.4% than that of December 2018 as
compared to a de-growth of 5.8% during November 2019. OIL, ONGC and PSC registered lower production of 24.4%, 0.7%
and 15.9% respectively during December 2019 as compared to December 2018. On cumulative basis indigenous crude oil
and condensate production of the country was lower by 6% during April-December 2019 as compared to the corresponding
period of the previous year.Crude oil processed during December 2019 was 20.8 MMT, which was 1% lower than December 2018 as compared to a
growth of 3.8% during November 2019. On cumulative basis total crude oil processed was lower by 1.2% during April-
December 2019 as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Indian refineries processed 79.5% high
Sulphur crude during December 2019 as compared to 75.6% during December 2018.
Crude oil imports decreased by 4.2% and 1.1% during December 2019 and April-December 2019 respectively as compared to
the corresponding period of the previous year.
Production of petroleum products saw a growth of 3% during December 2019 over December 2018 as compared to a
growth of 3.1% during November 2019. On cumulative basis production of petroleum products saw a de-growth of 0.6%
