Accomplishment: At the end of the lesson, the student will remove all pollutants from mother nature.

WHAT IS NATURE AT IT’S BEST??

Nature is derived from the Latin word natura.

Natura- “nature doing what nature does.”

Nature is anything that humans cannot alter.

Air pollution is caused by several things. Major causes of air pollution comes from cars, factories, fires, and smoking. All pollutants harm our environment as well as our health.

LITTERING

Littering can be ended as simple as 1, 2, 3!

hard for mother nature to break the trash down.

Littering also puts our animal’s lives in danger!

DESTROYING NATURAL HABITATS

Natural habitats are composed of animals and plants.

If plants work for us to help keep our air clean then how will the pollutants be filtered from the air if the plants from the natural habitats no longer exist?

With a partner create a list of three ways to clean the air.

PLANTSAll plants take in carbon

dioxide and release oxygen, which cleans the air.

Some plants are better than others, because they are able to eliminate other harmful chemicals from the air.

Examples: Peace lily, Flamingo lily, and Chinese evergreen

Without a clean environment, our earth will be destroyed.

It has been proven that Americans are the most wasteful people in the world.

The top three things that are wasted here in America are:

Food Energy Water

Helpful hints to conserve:

Save food for another sitting .

Get smaller portions.

Turn off things when not in use.

Do not let water run while not in use.

SUMMARY

The students have learned what things harm mother nature, and why our earth is in so much danger. They have also learned that if careless behaviors continue to take place that our earth will be destroyed. The main purpose of this presentation is to inform the students on what things hurt mother nature so that there can be a change!
