God Transforms a Family Through a Shoebox Gift By the parent of a shoebox recipient in Burundi
My wife, children, and I thank God for Operation Christmas Child because we are now all Christians.
Before my 9-year-old son received a shoebox gift from the church, I was not a good father. In fact, I didn’t deserve to be called a father because I was frequently drunk. My wife and children went to bed hungry many nights and had no clothes.
Then one day, my son was given a gift-filled shoebox and a small booklet called The Greatest Gift. I started secretly reading it and wondered what The Greatest Gift was all about.
My son started The Greatest Journey discipleship classes and told us about what he was learning. He graduated from the course and was given a Bible. I started reading it and decided to ask the pastor to help me receive Christ into my heart. When my wife saw it, she joined me and also repented. Today, we are Christians and we fellowship with the church.
God bless Operation Christmas Child as He uses you to transform people’s lives.

BURUNDI• Praise God for the current peace and stability in the country, which will allow the
ministry of Operation Christmas Child to reach more children.
• Praise God for new members that were added to the National Leadership Team this past season.
• Praise God for the different denominations that are looking forward to partnering with Operation Christmas Child this season to share the Gospel with children.
• Pray for our trainings. Ask that God will bring faithful ministry partners and teachers of The Greatest Journey who will carry out the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.
• Pray that the shoeboxes and ministry materials will safely reach the port in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as well as their final destinations.
• Pray for the National and Regional Leadership Teams as they entrust ministry partners with shoebox gifts.
• Pray that our ministry materials and shoebox gifts will be allowed to enter the country without being charged any taxes by the government.

KENYA• Praise God for the opportunity to reach many children through the ministry of
Operation Christmas Child.
• Praise God for the volunteers who are using shoebox gifts as tools to share the Good News and great joy of Jesus Christ.
• Praise God as our volunteers continue to carry out the mission and vision of Operation Christmas Child across Kenya.
• Pray for the Operation Christmas Child ministry to grow and reach more children in need this year.
• Pray that Jesus will touch the lives of the children who will be receiving shoeboxes this season.
RWANDA• Praise God for another opportunity and another year to reach over 100,000 children
with the Gospel.
• Praise God for the Regional Leadership Teams who work hard to minister to the children in their areas.
• Praise God for the churches that were closed and have now reopened to preach the Gospel again.
• Pray that God will use our Senior Regional Leadership Teams and Regional Leadership Teams in a great way and that they will be effective in doing ministry this year.
• Pray that the government will not charge any taxes on the importation of our ministry materials and shoebox gifts.
SOUTH SUDAN• Praise God for a successful season of recruiting and selecting. We thank God for the
committed men and women who make up our new teams.
• Praise God for another year of not having to pay taxes on shoebox gifts.
• Pray that peace and security will prevail in South Sudan.
• Pray that the newly recruited Regional Leadership Teams will catch the vision of Operation Christmas Child and be able to successfully lead the ministry this season.
• Pray for the journey of four containers of shoebox gifts coming this season. Ask that God will encourage the churches through these 32,000 Gospel opportunities.

• Pray for the Regional Leadership Teams who are unable to participate this season to remain strong and focused on the vision of Operation Christmas Child until the roads are better and ministry can continue.
• Pray for the unreached people groups we hope to reach this season and for the children among them.
TANZANIA• Praise God for a successful volunteer conference and that all of our teams were able to
attend.
• Praise God for the committed volunteers on our Senior Regional Leadership Teams and Regional Leadership Teams who continue to faithfully do the ministry of Operation Christmas Child.
• Praise God for the unreached people groups within Tanzania and for the sensitive areas that the ministry is able to reach.
• Pray that the shoeboxes will clear customs without any complications.
• Pray that we would quickly obtain the necessary certificate to receive and distribute shoebox gifts.
• Pray for the safety and success of the National Leadership Team, Senior Regional Leadership Teams, and Regional Managers as they travel across the country to conduct ministry partner trainings.
• Pray that the churches in Tanzania who are involved with Operation Christmas Child will continue to use the shoebox gifts as a tool for outreach within their communities.
UGANDA• Praise God for new individuals involved in the reception of shoebox gifts who are doing
a tremendous job.
• Praise God for the opportunities and doors that are opening to give the ministry access to more areas of the country.
• Pray that we would not be charged taxes for the shoebox gifts entering our country. This has been an issue for us in the past.
• Pray for strength and steadfastness in ministry for the Operation Christmas Child leadership in Uganda.
• Pray for more children to receive Christ and know Him as their Lord and personal Savior.

Dios Transforma una Familia por medio de una Caja de RegalosPor el papá de un niño en Burundi que recibió una caja de regalos
Mi esposa, hijos y yo agradecemos a Dios por Operation Christmas Child porque ahora todos somos cristianos.
Antes de que mi hijo de 9 años recibiera una caja de regalos de la iglesia, no era un buen padre. De hecho, no merecía ser llamado padre porque me emborrachaba frecuentemente. Mi esposa e hijos muchas noches se iban a dormir con hambre y no tenían ropa.
Entonces un día, mi hijo recibió una caja llena de regalos y un pequeño folleto llamado El Mejor Regalo. Lo empecé a leer en secreto y me preguntaba de qué se trataba El Mejor Regalo.
Mi hijo comenzó las clases de discipulado de La Gran Aventura y nos contaba lo que estaba aprendiendo. Se graduó del curso y le dieron una Biblia. La comencé a leer y decidí pedirle al pastor que me ayudara a recibir a Cristo en mi corazón. Cuando mi esposa vio aquello, se unió a mí y también se arrepintió. Hoy, somos cristianos y convivimos con la iglesia.
Que Dios bendiga a Operation Christmas Child ya que Él les usa para transformar la vida de las personas.
