8:00 AM REGISTRATION AND MORNING BREAKFAST Start your day right, grab a cup of coffee and a bite and start building your network. 8:30 AM WORKSHOP A FUTURE PROOFING EV CHARGING TO MAKE MOBILITY A NET ASSET TO THE GRID With the advent and proliferation of green energy it is time to re-explore the relationships between energy and electric vehicles. In this session we will discuss the relationships between energy production, the grid and electric vehicles and how future grids will look in relation to this new dynamic. Erika Myers, Research Director, Smart Power Alliance BREAKOUT GROUPS After the session, attendees will breakout into teams and apply what they have learned by developing journey maps. Build a strategy that you can take back to the office. DEBRIEF As you rejoin the session you will have the opportunity to review your road maps and share your ideas with the other groups. 10:30 AM Join us in our EV Center to learn about the latest technologies and advances supporting the community. 10:45 AM WORKSHOP B: CREATING EV MOBILE CITIES THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS It is in the best interest of city authorities to encourage EV usage to benefit the health of their citizens and the environment. With range anxiety being the key reason why people do not invest in cleaner greener cars, the best way for cities to encourage their usage is by making EVs chargeable through the city. In this case study we will look at the latest models Cities are using to keep their electric transportation powered. Tim Slusser, Director, Smart Mobility Initiatives, Next Energy PRACTICAL Identify your key takeaways from the case study and apply them to your own plans. Develop an action plan of investment priorities and metrics to enhance your distribution operations through role play and scenario based discussions. POWER THE DISCUSSION Share your successes and challenges with the group and practice fine-tuning your case to senior leadership. 12:45 PM LUNCH Hungry? So are we! Sit down to refuel while discussing the strategy sessions we had this far. 1:30 PM WORKSHOP C: CREATING A FUTURE WHERE IN-ROAD CHARGING IS A REALITY In-road charging represents a unique opportunity for major expansion of the mobility of EVs. While the early technology exists for this to be a reality, there are many hurdles that must be overcome for the realization of this space-age feature. In this session you will learn about the technology as it exists and what your organization can do to prepare for it as it becomes practically usable. Kevin Leary, Founder, PowerHydrent REVIEW Break into groups as we identify information needs that can be implemented in short and long-term road maps. Look at the future and identify areas where in-road will deliver the most value to users. SHARE First share your group work, your successes and challenges in the solutions you decided on. Next identify the short and long-term hurdles that you will need to overcome. 3:30 PM END OF PRE-CONFERENCE FOCUS DAY!
