Safety Factor Reporting
The EHPC210D controller provides diagnostic analysis of hydraulic or pneumatic actuated valves by monitoring the position, actuator pressure and time when the actuator is operating.
Providessimplesafetyfactorfigureswhichareeasilyanalysedto determine the health and trend of the actuator system.
SF Point 1 - BTO (Break to Open). SF Point 2 - ETO (End to Open). SF Point 3 - BTC (Break to Close). SF Point 4 - ETC (End to Close).
Base signature test is performed and this provides the base pressure and position relationship for the opening and closing of the actuator.
Safety factors are calculated at each point when the actuator is opening or closing.
Alarm set points can be used to monitor safety factors during normal actuator operation.

PST (Partial Stroke Testing)
The PST (Partial Stroke Test) can only be performed when the valve is fully open.
On a command to perform a partial stroke test the actuator / valve will be closed to 85% (position is settable) and re-opened to 100%.
PST (Partial Stroke Test) operation can be reversed for a spring to open actuator.
If the pressure drops too low during the test then the test will be aborted and a fault indicated.
On completion of the actuator movement the current test pressure and position relationship will be compared to the base signature test.
Three points will be calculated and compared with alarms being raised if any are below the trip level.
1. ETO (End to Open) safety factor (actual). 2. BTC (Break to Close) safety factor (actual). 3. ETC (Extrapolated End to Close) safety factor (implied).
Other Available Diagnostic Tests
Valve Signature Test - Fully closes the actuator and then reopens.
Valve Shutdown Test - Records any closing stroke of the actuator, normal shutdown or ESD (Emergency Shut Down).
ESD (Emergency Shut Down) Solenoid Blip Test - Momentarily breaks the ESD (Emergency Shut Down) Solenoid to check for a pressure drop at the actuator.
