Take the test yourself, before you turn the page to look at the answer key, and you'll discover what a good conversation starter this can be. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. _8. And I come confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make lawful some of that which was forbidden unto you. I come unto you wlth a sign from your Iord, so keep your duty to God and obey me. _9. She said: My Iord! How can I have a child when no mortal hath touched me? He satd: So it will be. God createth what He will. If He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is. _f O. And remember when the angels said: O Mary! Lo! God giveth thee glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, Illustrious in the world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near unto God. _11. One among them said: Kill not Joseph but, if ye must be doing, fling him into the depth of the pit: some caravan will find him.

Pre-Test : Three Religlons

This ts a wonderful exercise as a pre-test, for it will elicit a lot of discussion. Some students will arguethat questions can be interpreted ln a number of ways and that there are not always hard and fast answers.(This in itself is a valuable thtng for them to oqperience.) You wtll qutckly get a senle of how rnuch knowledgestudents have about Judaism and Christianity. Many statements raise irrther questions, i.e., "What was I[teacher] tryrng to saywhen I phrased question 25; how is it dlfferent from qr."iior, 22?'This pre-test hasworked well at the end of a unil of study; and one middle school teacher has used it both ways- as a pre-testfollowed by several class periods of discussion about what was discovered - and after three qieeks of siudy, usingthe same test, but as part of the unit exam.

Matching: Questions may have more than one correct answer. Write 'J' if the statement is true re-garding Judaism, "C" for Christianity, 'I'for Islam.
