Issues that came up using the current design:
➢ The axle-engine connection with flat edge and bolt will seize.
➢ Larger plastic objects tend not to shred, but “bounce” on the knifes
➢ Mounting the unit on the frame has brackets which might not be needed
➢ Sieve is hard to remove, should be easier
➢ Safety is a concern
➢ General easy of manufacturing could be improved
Target is to resolve those without increasing costs and complexity.

IMPROVEMENTS
4
Enlarged the
opening to fit large
bottle. Total width
of the unit is the
same
Changed the knife
sequence to
enable large
opening
IMPROVEMENTS
5
2 endplate sections
are identical, and
symmetric for easy
manufacturing and
avoiding mistakes

IMPROVEMENTS
7
Bearing is now 25mm
to fit enlarged axle.
Need thick washers to
support them, as its
not possible to
enlarge the 8mm bolts
since the countersunk
bolts wont fit the 6mm
endplates.
To fix the unit on
the frame. No end
profiles needed.
IMPROVEMENTS
8
Axle is enlarged for
increased strength
Knife area is
decreased to avoid
cutting large part in
one time. Now it
should “ chew” it
off piece by piece.
IMPROVEMENTS
9
Best coupling would
be using a spline or
axle key. Drilling a
hole and using a bolt
is also an option.
IMPROVEMENTS
10
Extra part to avoid
sieve.
Extra part to
increase strength
IMPROVEMENTS
11
Axles to remove the
sieve without tools
IMPROVEMENTS
12
This part will
prevent the axle to
go out, but allows
removal in
upwards position.
IMPROVEMENTS
13
Cover to shield the
rotating axle
Emergency switch.
IMPROVEMENTS
14
Lower frame for
increased stability and
lower costs.
Angled legs to
increase stability
IMPROVEMENTS
15
Opening that prevent
insertion of too large
objects. Position to
prevent objects falling
in by accident.Window to check
for problems. Must
be covered with
transparent plastic
Size is such that humans cant
reach the knifes. Positioned
over the engine to keep
footprint of the machine small
IMPROVEMENTS
16
Bottles can still fall through, the
large hopper also functions as a
buffer so you don’t need to feed
the machine continuously.
