This is here to show you that you are reading a relevant paper for the day you are reading it.

This is here to tell you who/what school created this paper and so parents or students who go their knows this is their schools so they know to read it.

Shows the contents of the whole paper so if you need a certain part to read you can go strait to it or know that the information you need is inside the paper.

This is the school logo. This is used to make you be able to tell the difference from other papers and know it is a certain one quickly at a first glance.

Picture to try and lure you into the article for you to see and interest into the article and start reading it.

Just an added thing to signify it is their newspaper and it goes out in their school and most the articles are to do with this area.

This is the main story which would be put here to stand out and is probably the most interesting/intriguing article

The second article to which would show a different range in interest from the main to try and convince different readers to the newspaper/articles.

Success

The School paper is overall good. It seems to get strait to the point in their articles which is appealing to most readers. The structure of the paper is good and has done well with the whole structure. For example the placement of the text for the articles and the picture matching the text. I think this paper would appeal to the audience well with the right amount of pictures and text so there isn’t too much information from text but there is the right amount and the page isn’t overflowing with pictures and advertisements. They could improve on the titles overall because they look a bit boring and doesn’t really appeal to people because they are just plain black so it doesn’t really stand out as much as a bright colour. But other than this their isn’t much else to improve of this at all so overall I believe this is a good/ well structured paper.

Primary researchIn my research I asked 20 different students 3 different questions about magazines which where: “What do you expect to see in a school magazine?” For this question I gave them 7 different options for answers of sports results, Latest music(Charts), Film reviews, Teachers news, Upcoming events, A part for the head teacher and articles about the school.

The results I got was results I expected to get with the sports and music and then a wanting useful information is a expected result for me.

Analysis Of Previous WorkMy first thoughts of the example is that the front cover stands out to me with the big picture of the one person and a big title taking up a lot of the page. Then having big parts to the side showing the contents of the magazine to show what it contains in a simpler view. The magazine could be improved by maybe have a date on the front of the magazine to show people it is relevant to the time they are looking at it. The front cover could also maybe have more than one picture to appeal to others but the one massive one seems to work well on this page.The contents page looks good by showing what pages the certain articles are on and then for the most important articles they have pictures behind the number of the page and the title to try and make them pages stand out more in the magazine so you will make sure to read the parts which they want you to read. I personally think there is nothing for them to improve on in the contents page.
