WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
Personalized LearningWestSide offers a variety of programming opportuni-ties catered to the various needs of our student popu-lation. Our Day Program hosts a seven period sched-ule where students can earn their diploma. However, the way instruction is delivered at WestSide truly makes it different than other programs and high schools. Teachers act as facilitators to learning for each student. Every student has their own learning contract for each subject area and is able to learn and progress at their own rate and make timely academic progress. Often teachers will be working individu-ally with students to ensure that they understand the content and make progress toward a specific goal.
Additional Programing at WestSideIn addition to our Day Program, WestSide offers a variety of programs where students can work at their own pace and have immediate and constant access to teacher support. Our Night Program caters to an older population (junior or higher) and gives access to students earning their diploma in the evenings. Our ROC Program offers a flexible four day a week, half-day schedule during the morning or afternoon for the most motivated and busy students to squeeze in their work schedule or extra-curricular activities. The Credit Acceleration Program (CAP) is housed at the Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center in Olds Station and is set up much like the previously
mentioned ROC. Our students must be enrolled in the Tech Center to ac-cess this program. Finally, the Bridg-es program works to “bridge” student successfully back into the world of ed-ucation. This program has ratio of six students to one teacher and focuses primarily on English and math.
WestSide High School has provided
our daughter with options different than that
of the typical traditional high school setting
which has better suited her learning style.”
